I’ve had my 2022 2.0 Ecoboost about 23 months and battery decided it was retirement day. Anybody else have this issue ? What battery did you install ? Measured voltage with a voltmeter and is at 8.9 VDC. Ford batteries are crap and from what I’ve read have a 12 mo /12000 mi warranty . Walmart seems to have a good replacement with a 4 yr free replacement .

When the time comes and I know it will with our 110°+ temperatures. I'm going with this AGM for the HYBRID from Walmart around $200 with tax.
Have a safe holiday.

I was under the impression the original Ford battery is covered under the 36 month/36k warranty.

If it's bad the 3/36 warranty will replace it. You will have to call dealer and they will test it.

As I mentioned elsewhere, AGM batteries don't impress me. They've been failing prematurely since day one. It is not just a Ford issue either. However, I will go on the record to say I have seen a number of regular wet batteries fail in a year's time, too. These have not been the OE batteries alone, but also numerous replacement ones.
Again, it's not just a Ford issue. We've replaced quite a few different brand batteries within the range 8 months to 2 years old. I can't say if they're just junk or if the systems on newer cars are just too demanding.

Now, I don't know how it is reading this or just how relevant it is, but online with Ford in OASIS it shows the battery's current state along with other vehicle info. I checked mine yesterday after getting home from work. My 1 yr. old Maverick is showing 78%. Now I do not know what the normal state is supposed to read, but this does raise a question. If there's someone with a real electrical background who can shed some light on this, it would be interesting and potentially informational for us all.

As others have said - 3/36 warranty, it should be covered but they have to test it and have the printout from the Ford tester showing it's bad.

Mine died after 6 months (AGM), dealer replaced it under warranty. I bought the Walmart one (4 year warranty) to keep it as spare

Mine was defective basically from day one. It was replaced under warranty at 1,500 miles with a new AGM and all is well.

Always had good luck with Ford's wet batteries, 5yrs plus and bad luck with Optima AGMs, 1 yr average.
My Tremor AGM is perpetually in deep sleep but starts right up after sitting idle for 2 weeks at a time. 🤷‍♂️
When the weather turns cold and the Mustang and Victory goes into storage I might address the issue ;)

Agreed - well, on the wet battery side anyway. I went beyond 6 years on the battery in my F-150. It still started the truck when I swapped it out, but it was getting kind of lame. Under-load testing showed it to be at the low end of marginal. I figured better to replace it before it failed, rather than after.

Not sure on which battery my Escape has - honestly never thought much about it.

My lawn tractor, a Cub Cadet, had a pretty lame AGM battery. Gone pretty much in 2 yearsAnd I couldn't swap it out for a wet battery because the area under the seat where the battery goes is just barely large enough for this one. I had to change it out. Was always marginal and needed charging in the spring, but it failed me when I had to shut the mower down way over in the corner of the yard under the power lines. I actually had to jump-start it with the F-150.

Something to keep my eye on, no doubt. I don't know if the battery type is terribly bad, or the charging strategy is bad. Had not considered it because I never encountered a problem until recently.

Just curious - was your original battery AGM or Flooded?

I had 2 bad batterys with my xl within the first 9 months.... but be careful because both of them tested good by the time I got back to the Ford dealership...I was fortunate that the dealership gave me good service and replaced them with a MAX battery and I have not had a problem since....I still monitor the 12v voltage and it never gets below 12v...I believe that the max battery has a higher reserve capacity and this will carry it through the down time...

Check with your ford dealer. The battery in my 22 was just replaced under warranty as they know the wrong battery were put in early ecoboost mavericks
