Thanks for all the comments! Loading as much as possible ahead of the axle is definitely going to help. I let the store help load the truck for me this time as it was 105 degrees that afternoon and while distributed, they could have placed it further up in the bed. I forgot I have security...
That's a good point regarding swaying and tire sidewall and heavy loads. These Michelin tires are nice for general purpose tires but really just minivan tires regarding sidewall stiffness. I probably should have aired them up more for the extra load too. I used to haul 1200+ lbs in my 1/2 ton...
So I needed 24 50# bags of concrete mix and decided to haul it in one load since the box store is so far away from home. That 1200 lbs is about the max for payload capacity of my Lariat ecoboost and maybe a couple of pounds over adding myself. Sorry I have no pics but you can visualize what 24...
I don't think that is normal at least based on my own experience with an ecoboost 4k tow. It actually shifts very well with regards to not hunting for gears. My only minor grip is at low speeds it intentionally upshifts too soon causing an engine lugging sensation as many have reported...
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Just to be clear though, I presume this problem primarily affects those with lifted suspensions? I wasn't aware of a high CV failure rate on stock EB AWD trucks or am I missing something?
No way of knowing if services performed were effective. My guess is not. I wouldn't touch a modern high tech lemon return unless I understood exactly what the problem was and if it can be resolved. With no warranty that price is way too high IMO.
I wonder if the reason for the no collision warning was because it was a fast moving object? I'm not aware of exactly how the collision warning is supposed to work but maybe if the deer was just standing in the road, the warning and automatic braking would have activated? I guess I should read...
I measured parasitic draw on my EB Lariat when I was finding the battery not fully charged after short drives. I found leaving the hood open during the parasitic measurement did not affect the results. Just lock the doors and come back in about 45 minutes or so keeping the fob out of range...
Because the Ford 3/36k warranty doesn't cover tire issues and the Continental tire warranty is pretty much over after 12 months. A good tire shop often has better balancing equipment and is easier in and out than a dealership. Might as well rule out tires first before hassling with the...
Interesting dilemma but be persistent before your warranty runs out. You might need to escalate the issue with the service manager and explain your circumstance of driving in another state with 75 mph speed limits and no 80 mph is not unsafe or unreasonable with a posted 75 mph speed limit. It...
Well if it is "bad" whatever that means, perhaps the standby current draw is excessive causing a rapid battery drain. Not enough info to really draw any conclusions and my guess is it just logged a DTC which they noticed when performing the software updates.
When I did this with my '24 Lariat AWD ecoboost there was no flashing of the module needed. Just plug and play. Did you use an HVAC module from an escape with the same drivetrain, as in not from an escape hybrid? They look the same but they're not.
These trucks can really transmit road vibration from worn road surfaces. I find worn concrete highways the worst. Most of the truck seems well put together but I've found some pieces of the dash can go into resonance on certain road surfaces at highway speed. When I heard some buzzing I was...
I bought the cheapest soft roll up I could find figuring I would replace it in a few years with something better. I found one on Walmart of all places for $139 including shipping and gave it a try. I suspect these cheap soft roll ups are pretty much all the same on from Amazon, eBay, etc...
Interesting. Here is what I find for shock applications by inserting VINs into fordparts.com.
standard - all including 4K AWD except with below packages
rough road - suspect its included when selecting opt machined face wheel and 235/65-17 AT tire w/o FX4 or Tremor - can't verify this as I...
Tough call as the EB is more fun to drive and AWD is a comfort if called for but given your city driving bias it may make more sense to keep your hybrid. Run the numbers on mpg given your annual mileage you drive and see if it makes sense.
