It lets you know when the tires are set to the correct pressure so you can move on to the next one and you don't have to walk back to check the info cluster on the dash, or if you don't have a tire pressure gauge handy.
You could just look at the digital read out on the pump. You set your pressure on the pump. It beeps and stops filling the tire reaches the set pressure. If not at a gas station I got a jump pack with a built in compressor that shuts off at set pressure.

never trust built in tire sensors. mine are off by 3 to 5 psi. I check mine monthly with a certified gauge.
Same. Mine reads low, which is annoying because it will trigger the low pressure warning prematurely. Does yours read low also?

Thanks.
Having never heard of this, I was having trouble reading OP's mind to figure out what they were talking about.

Hello everyone,
Does the maverick’s horn honk when filling it with air? My Frontier did and it was a great feature. Thanks for all replies in advance.
My wife's 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk has that feature; I don't believe the Maverick has that feature. I really would not want it anyway.

Andrew, thanks for that explanation. I won't tell you what thoughts were going thru my mine. I had 47 wisecracks for why the horn would sound while air was being put into a tire. (Some of them were dirty.)

Maverick doesn’t have it. I’d never heard of this before and don’t need it.

Dang, now I want that feature. I'm sure someone is combing through FORScan codes, looking for a way to enable it. 🤔

My 22 xl does not, I’ve never heard of such a thing.

I over-inflate, so that feature would be a nuisance to me.

This was a very handy feature at one point. I used to have it on one of my vehicles maybe 10 years ago or so. Think about the time before digital gauges and portable compressors you can set to a specific PSI and let it go. The days where all we had was the old stick style gauge that when you put it on the stem the gauge shot out the little stick from the end telling you the tire pressure. In those days, this feature was great because you didn't have to keep stopping the inflation and checking to see where you were. Im showing my age I know, but it was handy feature back in the day.

My 3/4 ton Ram had it and I liked it. When your tires are suposed to be inflated to 70psi and the gas station hose barely puts that much pressure out, you can sit there forever just to add a few pounds. I'd just lean on the chuck until it honked and let a couple pounds out after, if needed.

I think Nissan introduced that feature a while ago and seen it on a few GM and Honda vehicles as well. But no, not on the Mav... Sadly, you'll have to shell out $2 for a handheld pressure gauge or go into the vehicle and check on the dash. I'll press f to pay respects.
Where are you finding the $2 tire pressure gauges? 1950?
