Does color matter?

Not a Maverick but thought this video worth posting. Basically looking at the outside and inside difference between a white vs black exterior. I think a lighter color interior like beige may make a noticeable difference as well. From experience I have and can touch a white vehicle where a dark vehicle i couldn't without burning my hand. Anyway thought the video interesting and informative.

Yes, lighter colors will be cooler in the summer then dark colors. This also goes for interiors. A white car with a white interior is like magic compared to a black on black.

But none of this matters with the mav, because Ford built the Mav around an industrial refrigeration unit that cools down incredibly quick, and with remote start my Mavis cold by the time I walk to it.

In AZ if you get a black or dark car, I think you are beyond foolish. both of my Mavs have been light colors; and not only are they cooler they don't show the dust.

Living in southern Nevada, when I bought my Maverick, I wanted light silver or light gray. Unfortunately back in 2023 supplies were still limited night and got what I got Atlas blue which is really too dark for the desert.

I've done the comparison on exact cars one black, one gray, one white. What I noticed is; they all had a/c and could cool the car to a comfortable level. It's 104 outside right now, my cray car sits in the sun.

Certainly is a temperature difference between a light exterior and dark exterior color. Does it really matter? I guess that’s subjective but I have ceramic film all around and use a windshield shade and reflectix in my side windows.

With the hybrids DC scroll motor air conditioning I can start my Mav from FordPass and it’s an ice box when I get into it and mine is eruption green.

Yes, I am near Phoenix as well and I got a white Mav myself on purpose, and it's stunning the amount of other white vehicles that you see on the roads. It's science (click link).

Another story: When I moved here my mailbox by the curb was black, and I noticed it would get very hot on a typical day here with no clouds in the sky. When we got mail order prescriptions delivered, I knew it was not good, because medicine always has a given temp range for storage. I would always grab it ASAP to bring in the house.

So I spray painted the mailbox white, and it makes a very noticeable difference - it's much cooler now.

I don't really want to buy a tonneau cover, bed mat, or bedliner because they are always black and I park outside a lot. And the Sun is formidable adversary. It destroys things. Don't @me if you don't live here. It was 113° here today, no clouds.

Trust me, I’m glad we have choices! We’re all different and that’s awesome. I just can’t remember ever having color of a vehicle a concern for me. Find me the right vehicle with the package that I want and it can be polka dot for all I care.
