DIY Magnetic Toolbox

A two year old project, but figured I'd throw it out there for others if interested.
Purchased a "pelican" style rifle case off Amazon and some magnets with integrated bolts. Simply measured where the magnets would line up with some one of the horizontal ribs in the front of the bed. Drilled holes and installed the magnets. Plucked the foam to fit my needs. Less than an hour of work and I had a weather tight box for my tool kit, battery jump pack, battery air inflator, and small first aid kit.
The magnets held strong and let me quickly remove the box

if I ever needed it. The only time the magnets didn't hold was when the maverick was sadly totaled by a moving truck rear ending me at an intersection.

I did, currently in a '24 lightning. Really loved the Maverick when I got it for $23k but with the prices going up on them, the compromises were harder to swallow. Between the healthy insurance payout and great pricing/incentives, figured I'd step up from hybrid to full electric.

"Magnets with integrated bolts"... Do you have a link for this you could share? Seriously considering this as an alternative to a "real" truck toolbox that would take up too much of the precious volume of the Maverick's bed.

Here you go, at least this is what Amazon says I ordered. I forgot that the case had wheels, I pulled those out. Pretty sure these are the same magnets, I've used them for multiple projects, but these were ordered the same date as the case.
