Do you need to remove the facia, or just use a Dremel or other device of ultimate destruction to remove than panel?
DD has an installation video on their site. The whole thing is supposed to come off. You will need to be able to reach some areas on the vehicle behind the fascia for the wiring, much easier to do with it off.

Mine stay on with the high beams unless shut off. Mounted a switch to the right of the headlight selector. Don't want them on unless I need them. Having them on with the high beams in fog/snow/rain is counter productive as they ruin the distance sight anyway.

Interesting tidbit: I do believe that in the US it is still illegal to have high beams and low beams on at the same time. Read that in an article that discussed how in Europe a lot of cars have headlights that have adaptive high beams. Not sure if the same also applies to high beams and fog lights, though.

The kit looks nice although a time consuming install. I really don't like their approach to bridging onto the Maverick's wiring by using tap connectors that cut the wire insulation. That is a recipe to have wiring problems in the future as these tap connections often corrode. With a kit as thought out as this, not sure why they don't just make a compatible wiring harness so the wiring is plug and play. That would also prevent any warranty issues later on if the wiring was not tapped into.

I definitely would not leave the switch under the hood... that was an odd choice. But they do look great.

I hope DD makes some compatible with tow hooks too and figures out a better way to wire them. I'm still shocked that FORD included fog lights on Escapes but not a truck the same cost... C'mon man!

They may look small but produce quit a bit of useable light at night....esp if you are watching out for deer on the sides.
We had Diode Dynamics amber fogs on our Subaru CrossTrek and they were absolutely awesome for spotting deer along the side of the road.

Will definitely be getting them for the Maverick, you did a very nice installation.

I installed the DD fog light kit and used the f150 hybrid headlight switch and mine turn off with high beams on , used the DD wiring harness but didn’t connect into the headlights ran a wire from the bcm to the switch wire on the DD harness works great just like factory.

Share any details or pictures? Did you still use the DD relay and just run the trigger to the BCM or bypass it and go straight form the lights to the BCM? How did you route the wiring? Did you buy a pin/wire setup from Ford to connect to the BCM?

Going to be doing the same thing shortly.

I did a write up last month when I did mine with pictures and the forscan , I wired everything up just like DD shows on the install video, except using their switch I bought a F150 hybrid headlight switch and ran a wire with the pin / wire setup from ford , I ran the wire from bcm over to drivers side and through the firewall to the DD harness trigger wire using their complete harness except their switch . There is two bcm connections but I only used #6 pin and plus I wanted to have the amber lights when not using the fog lights . Not hard to do just time consuming so my wires are all hidden. I did use one switch wire from DD harness to connect at the bcm since it was already wrapped and protected and yes I used the DD relay.

Yeah man, built motor with a whipple. Don't drive it much since I got a Z06. I still frequent the forum. Lots of the same members. Good to see you are still around and kicking.

I actually took them off the crosstrek and it’s what I plan on using on the Mav the SS3 in amber.

Really like the look. I will have to get these myself. I am leaning towards having them installed. Too old to be laying under the Maverick.
