So Diode Dynamic has now upgraded the 2025+ kits to ABS plastic because of customer complaints of UV fading on the earlier kits. I wonder if they will now send all of the previous model purchasers replacement bezels. I doubt it.

Noticed fading on my bezel installed on the 2023, what were they using before? Also wondering if the plug n play harness is backward compatible, would be great to have it work on the factory switch without having to get an F150 panel + Forscan.

Other way around. The 1st gen models were ABS which is less UV-fast compared to other polymers like ASA:

TBH this is my mistake from when I worked at DD and designed these. In retrospect, I wish I would have specified ASA instead of ABS, for better UV resistance.

It is normal for ABS to fade in the sun. Since these use 2015 F150 fog lamp assemblies, I based the bezel design on the corresponding OEM Ford 2015 F150 bezel, which originally was ABS and appears to age the same way. FWIW, it looks like Ford made the same mistake and later model Ford bezels are often made with ASA instead (like the 2020-2022 Superduty halogen fog bezels).

Not a product for me. While i like the idea of then creating a plug n play wire harness, I'm not going to tear apart my front, bumper, and wheel wells to instal the lights.

Please someone develop a simple install done from the exterior. It seems to me since you have to cut out the panel in the bumper, that it could be done from the exterior, and then have push in led bezel and light kit that is installed with out all of the rigamarole of a front end tear down.

Is it just me, or do others think the whole idea of taking the front end apart just to add lights is a show stopper?

I'm with you. I have zero desire to remove the front bumper and keep up with all the push pins and screws. Plus I've broken so many plastic tabs before the thought of it gives me PTSD. LOL

I did the install which did require the bumper removal. While I was apprehensive initially I have to tell you it wasn’t that difficult, but I enjoy projects that require some dissection. But after trying to make the cut-outs using a Dremmel and getting frustrated with it, I switched to an oscillating saw and it did cut cleaner and easier. After finishing the cutouts I did think it probably could have been done with the bumper still attached to the truck. Problem is the design required the bezels to be secured from behind and the only way to do that is remove the bumper entirely. A new redesign with a snap in place could probably be made, but the weight of the light itself would probably cause it to sag. Again not a hard project. Don’t be afraid to give a go.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

What i find annoying is that ford didn't put them on at least the lariats, or even xlt's. To have it just on the lobo is frustrating.
