This whole thread is ridiculous. To expect an owner of a Maverick Hybrid to go out and have to buy a charger and plug their vehicle in at night is rediculous. We didn't buy a stupid plug in EV. That is just a bandaid approach to a bleeding artery. Ford has known about this problem since the 2022 model year and is just getting around to supposedly doing something about it? I suspect they were ignoring it, saying publicly we "weren't driving enough. Please drive more", until the shear number of people having this problem (basically every owner of a hybrid Maverick) grew so large and vocal that they had to finally do something about it so sales weren't affected. This is the next "back up camera defect" P.R. disaster for the company. The recall for this will be so huge that the impact to future sales will yet to be seen. Also, someone pointed out that other vehicles like Subaru's have this issue. Who cares? That's not our problem. That is deflection. That is Subaru's problem. This is Ford's problem to solve, and the clock is quickly ticking on this for a solution to be announced by March 30th, as they have publicly promised.
You're right. Ford glossed over the battery problem by taking the road of least expense and PR problem . . . telling customers to drive more, etc. Utter nonsense. Seems it finally dawned on them their customers weren't buying it and the problem wasn't going away on its own. They finally ponied up for the 2025 hybrid and put in the battery they should have used all along. Hopefully, whoever made the decision to use that crappy OEM wet battery and then try to hoodwink their customers over the problem was fired.

No, it has NOT been "fixed" in 2025 models. The AGM is somewhat less susceptable to low discharge damage, but not immune. There are those with 2025 hybrids having the deep sleep problem as reported on several Facebook Maverick groups.
True the AGM is a deeper cycle with more amp hours so will work 30-50% longer than a standard battery. The deep sleep is "coming soon or problem" indicator "feature" to put maintainer or JUST REPLACE BATTERY time!!!! This charging issue has existed since at least 2011 just search other lines of vehicles. The maverick shows up somewhat sooner than most because the battery is smaller than the batteries in others like the F-150.

I am, sort of. My charger detects VRLM, AGM, gel and flooded and adjusts charge rate accordingly. It's more than a trickle charger though, it's a multistage charger/maintainer with float stage, so it's safe to use indefinitely. Simple "trickle" chargers should not be used indefinitely, but I think what most folks in this thread are referring to are float chargers, not trickle chargers.
I’d like a link to yours If you could be so kind Sir.

For those looking for a Deep Sleep temporary fix, I came up with a trickle charger solution.

Because the battery is under the backseat and not under the hood, the solution is a little more cumbersome.

I bought a 1.5 amp charger/trickle charger from Menards. It has two leads to connect to the battery cable tightening nuts (after cutting a small notch out of them first). The cord on the charger I got is VERY short but that doesn't matter.

I connected the leads and did a quick check to make sure the charger was working. When I went to close the battery cover, I realized that I'd have to cut a couple notches in the case so it would close.

Now when I get home and if the truck will be sitting for a few days, I roll down the rear window about half way and run an extension cord in to plug in the charger.

It's a little inconvenient but it works great. I haven't gotten any Deep Sleep messages since it was installed.

My next steps will involve a multi meter and pulling fuses. The idea being that there is something (or things) in the truck's electrical system that's drawing down the battery when the truck is shut off and I'd like to tell Ford what it is.

A side note: I have heard that the Deep Sleep problem is not just Mavericks but other vehicles including other Ford models and Subarus.

Here is my solution. I installed it many months ago and I use it almost every night to make sure when I come out to use my truck, the battery will be fully charged. I have had 4-5 times when the battery was completely dead. I installed a port in the plastic panel that shows the trim level. The wire runs inside and the negative connects to the frame and the positive attaches to a terminal with a red plastic cover. The positive wire is fused. The trickle charger plugs into and outlet just inside the garage door. the truck parks about 5 feet from the door. Attached are 4 pictures. this makes hookup very fast and easy and goes through the BMS so the truck is aware of the battery charge level. Has worked perfectly so far. When I hook up the charger, It always shows that it is charging, even after I just drove it. By morning, it shows full charge.

(2023 models don't have a key fob remote start button)
Remote start via the fob was a standalone $170 option for 23. I had it on my 23 lariat lux order initially before removing it a couple weeks later thinking I could just rely on Ford Pass. Obviously this deep sleep crap ruined that. I added it aftermarket with Remote Start X for $100.

Perimeter security plus is available for every year Maverick and adds alarm and remote start. I installed it on my 22 and 23's. It use the original key fobs with a special sequence to remote start the truck.

My 2023 Lariat Hybrid was going into sleep mode often. I started putting a small charger on the points under the hood. That prevented further sleep mode but it was a hassle doing it 2-3 times a week. Last Black Friday I picked up an AGM battery from Amazon for $120.00 and installed it on Nov. 25, 2024. It was an easy install. I have had no further deep sleep issues. I too hope Ford will reimburse me some day.

Question: I see this battery is a 'H5', did you have any modifications to the install?
I was told the hybrid takes a 'H4' battery, which is the same size as the OEM so you just drop it in with no mods to the vehicle.
Thanks.

It dropped right in with no modifications required. The hardest part was getting sockets on the nuts holding it in. At one point I had to use a magnet to go fishing for a nut that got away. Well worth doing.

I do the same thing
I put mine on the charger once in a while but I don't attach it to the battery directly. I use the + and - posts under the hood.
This is the way.
What will happen, if the leads are connected directly to the battery? As I did last October.
