That's not true, but it was a common misconception. Tell your salesman you'll be in 8/2 to place your hybrid order.

Ford hasn't announced when all of the 23 order banks are opening yet. Our dealership did get an email with preliminary months (subject to change) for order bank opening, but no specific dates.
23 order banks opening for most vehicles in Aug. Looks like Sept for Mustang. But again, this is all subject to change.

We don't have order guides for most 23 vehicles yet with pricing and options.

I called ford customer service today he said tell my dealer that August 2nd is when they can order my 2023 , being I have a 2022 ordered.as he said its 99% chance I wont get a 2022 ,but he said its in the system but no vin# ordered oct 2021 hybrid xlt one opt . trailer hitch he said reg 2023 start aug.15th> I really dont believe anyone anymore, customer service is a big ZERO

Most of what makes them seem clueless is the fact the salesman are that you would get if you called or walked in. The fleet manager doing the actual orders likely does know when the order banks will open, but the salesman that needs commission today or he is out the door tomorrow has no idea about ordering.

They aren't having any issues selling them for way over MSRP, so why would they sell them for below? That's the market right now.

My dealer was clueless too, but after almost 11 months of waiting they did agree to stick to MSRP

Thats exactly what i was thinking lol they know what they need to know: every maverick they can get will be sold. So its sensible that the op knows more about specific order banks opening times than individual dealer reps… they have more than just mavericks to worry about and track. And they arent at all concerned about being able to sell mavericks lol

If I can see the future I’m seeing Fords website go down on Aug 2 due to excessive pings from dealers kinda like when concert tickets go on sale and you can’t get through due to the volume.

I am convinced 90 percent of local Ford dealers nationwide are completely clueless! Since my existing order is almost certain to be pushed to MY23, I decided just for kicks I'd call a few of the local dealers within 30 minutes of home to inquire about ordering a 23 through them.

Most of these folks don't even know when order banks are opening, have no idea about the private offer Ford will be giving with pushed orders and will not even entertain the idea of offering even one penny below MSRP on price. But they sure do know they can sell any they get on the lot for $10,000 over sticker! LOL

I'd say the options going forward are extremely limited. Thank God for @fordvideoguy and Long-McArthur. I'd say he's earning my business!

I texted my salesman earlier asking him about setting up an appointment on 8/2 for the order and he said he will get back with me. He never reached out following any of the emails that Ford sent out asking dealers to reach out regarding constraints, I always have to be the person. I didn't even ask when the order banks opened and just told him I want to be there on 8/2 to put in my new order.

Having the exact same experience. Contacted the sales manager 5 days ago with no response. Guess I'll be standing outside their door @ 9AM on 8/2 tapping my foot waiting for the doors to open.

Honeslty if you can make it to the dealership on 2nd do it person with them etc thats gonna be best way. You can see what they see .

I'm concerned that they are not even going to know how to properly convert our 22 orders to 23 and we end up at the bottom of the list again.

My order disappeared after 8 or so months of being “in process” when I would check with Ford. I ordered and received email confirmation Oct 9 2021. I’ll be starting at the back of the line for MY 23 as a result of that.

You can switch dealers if rolling over to MY23. The special offer follows you. The cost is going to the back of the line. Getting a competent caring dealer just might be worth it. They lose a sale and no truck to sell at a massive markup since you went to another dealer.

UPDATE: I reached out to 4 local dealers in my area and heard back from them. Of those, only ONE of the salesmen I talked to knew much of anything about the Maverick (because he has an unscheduled order of his own) and NONE knew that order banks were opening on Aug. 2.

Incidentally, of those four, one offered a flat discount of $250 off MSRP, one offered no discount but said they would honor A-plan, X-plan, etc. The third said straight MSRP, period. And the fourth just told me they can't even order a Maverick until September and they'd call me back. LOL!

BOTTOM LINE: I'm taking my business out of the area to dealers that actually have a clue.

I work for a ford dealer and order banks for the 23 Maverick open august 2nd we have people already getting appointments to order them and have already been thru the ordering process just waiting for 8/2 so we can place the 40-60 orders we already have

Got an email from the saleslady I talked to a few months ago. The dealership is 20 miles away, so will be the one I use to order a 2023. (Nothing from another dealer about 40 miles away. Ya snooze, ya lose.)
The email was a notification that ordering would open on August 2nd. Good for her. BUT, when asked when the 2023 specs would appear on ford.com, she had no idea.
At least she knew about and was informing me about the order date. One out of two isn't bad.
