Aside from tax and tag fees how much is your dealer charging for Doc/prep/handling?
$422, which is kind of standard in Pennsylvania.

My dealer accepts X-Plan and caps fees at $100.

Striaght from a local Ford dealer website:
$798.50 Administration fee, and $189.00 electronic filing fee.
(this is actually lower than it was when I got my Maverick a year ago. Then, it was $995 + $189).

At least they aren't the worst dalership in the state. Another dealership about 30 min away from me charges almost twice as much, plus has a 'mandatory' protection coating that adds another $1300 to the price and they don't let you opt out of it. Its hilarious because I know the shop that does it, and you can get it yourself for about 1/4th the price - same coating, same guys applying it.

From another dealership website (not a Ford dealer) for the other dealership nearest me:
Additional fees include $1599 Protection Package, $1399 Doc fee, tax, tag, & title.

NC is boneheaded and doesn't cap them. Its more highway robbery. But, X-plan can help if your dealership will honor it. I kind of do stuff to help my dealership out so they make adjustments for me, so I don't pay the public price.

Using x plan caps some of these fees. Use that

My having X-plan, and the dealer agreeing to it when I ordered, saved me a $1,000 "custom order fee" that they try to charge folks, as well as only $100 DOC compared to their usual $599. X-Plan itself oly saved me about $700 off the vehicle itself.
All total, including fee reduction, discount on MSRP etc, X-plan saved me $1,500 on the 2022 and it is about the same on the 2023.... Well, in theroy! With the 2023 I doubt I could have ordered a more constrained Maverick... One might think I took the constrained options list and got two of each on the 2023....... sigh.

Oh, why did I switch dealers? Well, although the sales guy for dealer on the 2022 was fantastic, (Andy @jim Click, Green Valley) the GM said no more X-plan AND required to get the $1,800 "Desert protection package" which is a lot of over priced crap I did not want... Vin etching, fabric protection, blah blah blah... Took several calls to find another dealer that would take X-plan and not tack on dealer addon extra junk.

In NH it ranges from 0 to over 1000. I refuse to pay it. I ordered from a dealer 60 miles away because the dealer 5 miles away refused to waive the DOC fees. In NH it cost $37.50 for title and plate state fee. Any more more than that is just your dealer stealing your money.

Most states allow dealers to charge whatever they want. The lowest fees are in states that limit it to actual fees -plus (around $50). For instance, it is $75 dollars in Minnesota while in Florida is around $1000. The fee is negotiable in most states but people do not bother. It is not a required fee in any state.

$230 doc fee which was the max in MI in 2022 (has gone up to $260 now)

I asked for it to be waived but was not successful.
