I live in Hawaii and on my 1st bumpy road had the dreaded Rattle then it went away šŸ™ƒ must be the Hawaii heat because it hasn't come back
Update make sure to check the rubber on the passenger side A Pilar mine was on the wrong side of the plastic! Once moved to the correct side the rattle is gonešŸ˜‰

Mine sounds like glass has cracked from an impact . it's loud. I better get it to a dealer, so they can see there are no cracks. And start the process, I think its gonna need to be replaced.
Only happens when the temp changes. I can not control when it happens.

I am also noticing a ticking/clicking/rhythmic noise just sitting still from passenger side like a water dripping sound…but was able to hear it today it’s something coming from the speaker??? Does anyone also have the speakers all click, count out, and then back on again? Doesn’t matter source etc…? Sorry, I know that’s a different issue!

*but mine does the noise no matter what as well, however, when it gets cold out, it’s unbearable! Not to mention the vibration noise under 29mph in the drivers dash area (speedometer) area! I have posted videos here and on YouTube! Now that it’s been some time and a lot of info of windshield and dash replacements fixing the issue I’m making an appointment! Also, so glad to see they have the fix for the 12v service now issue!!! Took it in, said nothing wrong!! Ugh

Update! Had windshield replaced by safelite last weekend. It was replaced with the lariat acoustic windshield (aftermarket) and not only is the issue gone!!! The glass makes a huge difference in noise and comfort level of truck. Wow!! I drive a lot of highway and drove about 17,500miles on factory xlt windshield glass. The rain is no longer so loud, the wind, the other driving noises you just don’t realize how loud it is until it’s different!! So, for me, minus the drivetrain growl/clunk, the glass fixed the problem. Yay! I love my truck again and more as it’s 50% quieter with the acoustic glass. That is my opinion maybe it’s more or less but damn that rock did me a favor

How much of an upcharge was it to have the Lariat acoustic front windshield installed in place of your factory non-acoustic windshield? Also, did Safelite give you any pushback on using a non-factory part for your trim? What did you have to do to get them to go for it?

Great questions:

1.) I inputted the VIN# and figured I would have to just settle or try and speak with them….however, right now the way their system is setup, and the truck having everything but ā€œpush button startā€ā€¦ I was asked by safelite setup questions as such.
2.)It said, we found your 2022 Ford maverick 4wd pickup truck, however, we need more info regarding options your vehicle has. It then asked, does your truck have push button start and heated seats in one question yes or no style. It has heated seats, steering wheel, wipers, and mirrors, but no push button obviously… so I selected that option. The other option was no the truck doesn’t have any of these options. Meaning lariat vs non-lariat.
3.)I figured it would come back and say sorry, your vin#, and options selected done match…! But no! It took my insurance info, personal info, truck vin and options, and setup my appointment.
4.)Insurance covered claim and I paid my normal deductible.
5.)it was aftermarket glass, as factory isn’t available, and since my truck isn’t a lease, and I authorized the use of aftermarket and it had warranty as well as insurance approving the repairs. ā€˜It was a green light!
6.)I would have to look back but the actual retail price for the glass was like $1k something bucks.
7.) this glass is nicer than my factory glass outside of it being acoustic, then it being acoustic, helps tremendously! Like I said as a non acoustic glass driver of this truck for that many miles and conditions…it was like I got a new truck! It Has made me want to keep the truck and enjoy it the way it should be….

**this was my experience, I figured it wouldn’t work, it did! I suspect they may get wise to this glitch in the options question (XLT W/LUX PKG) mimics options of the lariat (sans push button start)… and until they change that to askheated seats/steering non-pushbutton or select trim… one can get the lariat glass!

thanks again,
Gabe

My deductible is $250.00 that’s the cost I paid. I wonder how long safelite will take before figuring this out… honestly, it’s a true glitch with their system setup… again, I think having the truck since new off the truck with 3 miles to 17,500k miles with the non-acoustic glass to now…I will always make sure it has the acoustic glass!! The rain is no longer torture, the wind and traffic noise is greatly reduced. So it does make a difference! Best part was that my truck doesn’t rattle, Pop, click, tick. Etc.

...I have a feeling the front rattle is a windshield fit issue that will require replacement of the windshield to fix...

Even if the window was leaking like a sive because the window wasn't fully in contact with the adhesive it probably wouldn't rattle. (Worked my way through college in a Ford dealership body shop) almost always something in contact with the window making it sound like that.

Very easy way to get a better idea of where the noise is coming from would be to take a 4' or 5' piece of 1/2" hose and while someone else is driving, hold one end to your ear while moving the other end around the perimeter of the windshield. Unless the noise is emanating from the dash you should know what the cause is in minutes.

Good luck!

This is a pretty good idea, but the sound can travel. Most people will hear it on the passenger side, but it can be prevalent around the driver side at times as well. The sound really isn't like a rattle, it more sounds like a small crack of plastic or something like a blown speaker pop/crack.

And that's why the hose works so well. It isolates the sound to what is coming from almost directly in front of the opening on the hose and when you get near the source, it will get increasingly louder. Using this method should get you VERY close to the contact point making the noise unless the noise is coming from under the dash but not contacting the dash.

Usually the sound that you're describing is caused by pieces of plastic trim scraping adjacent trim pieces or the metal they're attached to because of the flexing of the car/truck while driving. Seriously, get a friend to drive for 10 minutes and just try the hose trick moving it around all corners and edges and joints made by all of the plastic trim the truck. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you home in on the noise. Then putting pressure on the suspect trim piece will usually stop the noise giving you confirmation.

Enjoy

No doubt- I drove 2 XLT's the week they hit the lot's last year and was a bit let down- Then drove a Lariat- Could not believe how much of a difference that windshield made..

The dash rattle is driving me insane trying to figure out. Just picked up my truck and have taken the glove out to open and inspect. Sounds like passenger side very front right. Almost a squeaky rattle at any speeds over 15 with some amount of terrain. Could probably live with it but want so badly to diagnose and make sure not a bad windshield.

I had this fixed today at my dealer . It’s the windshield installation pucks he called them . When the body flexes the pucks rub the windshield . They had to remove pillar trim and headliner and remove the pucks. I assume they are alignment pegs of some sort for the machine to line up windshield when installing. Drove it home and no more creaking or clicking ( which I thought was dash ). I’m very happy with my maverick again it was driving me nuts . I came from Honda and Toyota products so I guess I’m picky but a new truck shouldn’t creak that bad and loud .

Worked at a gas station as a kid in the early 60s and one of the owners who had been a mechanic at a car dealer before he bought the station told a funny rattle story that I remember to this day. He said an owner brought a car in and said there was a light clunk in the driver's door when he turned a corner. The gas station owner was the mechanic on that car and after several attempts to find the noise with just the door panel off, he decided he had to take the window out of the door! After he removed the window and crank mechanism, he found a small Coke bottle tied to a string way up inside the door and the bottle had a note inside that read, I hope you have as much fun finding this as I did putting here. Don't know if the story was true, but hearing stories about car makers in the mid to late 50s, I can believe it! Hope all Maverick rattles are simple and easy to find!
I heard a similar story that someone found a marble in a Jaguar dash with a note "you found it you rich bastard"
