I know that Ford sells the replacement crash bar with a hitch for over $300.
I also know that Curt sells a bolt on hitch receiver that just looks like a larger crash bar to go under the existing one. But, has anyone tried one like this yet?

I'm not sure of size yet and if it would fit, but I'm curious. This is significantly cheaper and generally designed for RV bumpers. I don't see that as a problem because the rated towing cap is 3500 or 1500 over the Mavericks hybrids rating.
Thoughts?
