Is this "Fordese" for trying to make sure that orderer matches buyer??? Whatever, make sure your order has been entered and approved in the COVP system! Yes, the dealer can show you this!!!

Ohh my sweet Summer child..... ;)

Where do we even begin. Short version.

Did your dealer take a copy of your drivers license when you ordered?

Honestly, I don’t remember. But Ford sent me an order confirmation.

From last year, but I assume still is accurate as to where/how your dealer can prove your order was done correctly via ROVP/COVP.

Well, I can imagine this will cause a lot of peoples orders to suddenly get canceled because their dealers couldn't follow proper procedures. I anticipate a lot of angry threads popping up in June when this policy takes effect.

So, Ford originally told all of these dealers that it was encouraged but not necessary, but now it is necessary and they're leaving it up to the dealers to follow up with customers and get the info? I imagine there is going to be a lot of angry people not getting their Mavericks.

Anyone who is unscheduled better be calling their dealer if you don't already have your COVP.

Curious as to exactly why ? End of year clean up, suspicious of multiple orders or dealer orders??

Yep, and the "good" dealers said from day 1 that they would COVP 100% of their orders to avoid this type of fiasco.

I would suspect this is the easiest way to reduce the number of unscheduled orders by a large margin. And it is a way for Ford Corporate to toss their hands up and say "We didn't really do this to your customers, YOU did. Why did you not COVP them in September?"

Maybe, but wow... gonna be a lot of people whose dealers just don't contact them to get this done, they're not hanging out on MTC to catch it.... I see ugly ahead.

I wonder if this is also setting up for private offers/order rollovers like we saw for 22->23. With all the hybrid orders that won't get built, presumably a lot more than last year, this may be preparation for a substantial price increase for MY24 orders.

Clarification please. If I received the "order received" email from Ford the day after my order was placed does this mean there may NOT have been a COVP submitted?
