Also for comparison, the new Ranger is almost identical in size to the early 2000's era F150 to show how much they've grown.

I read somewhere that someone wanted a side by side comparison of an older Ranger to the Maverick. I just happened to pull in and park next to an older model Ranger so I snapped a pic comparing the sizes. My how times have changed!

You beat me to it, a neighbor original Ranger and I was going to do side-by-side pictures - if I ever get my Maverick:rolleyes:.

Just in simple terms. Size wise, how do they stack up, both interior and exterior. My wife had a 2010 Ranger, but I cannot remember what I had for lunch, much less its size LOL.
I don't have the inside specs but here is the exterior (Gen3 2011 Ranger extended cab)

in inches

Anybody remember the 70's Ford Courier's? 4 cylinder and 4 speed tranny. I drove my friends when I was 14 and nearly rolled it with two guys in the bed. They were fun to drive back then. I can't imagine how they would feel today compared to modern suspensions and smoother running engines and now the Maverick has 250 HP compared to 74 LOL.

Engine & Transmission Specifications:
  • Engine: 1.8L (1800cc) 4-Cylinder (Overhead Cam)
  • Compression: 8.6 to 1.
  • Horsepower: 74-horsepower (55 kW) at 5,070 rpm.
  • Torque: 92 lbf⋅ft (125 N⋅m) at 3,500 rpm.
  • Fuel Capacity: 11.9 gallons (electric pump)
  • Axle Ratio: 4.11.
  • Transmission: 4-speed manual.

Thanks a million. Now I need to talk to your dog. Obviously, he might be a bigger one, but my wife has a dog that has claimed the front passenger seat of her Maverick. If I go with them, she and Toby are "Driving Mr. Daisy". I am getting used to riding in the back seat of the Maverick LOL. To cap it all off, we have 4 total small dogs, so we have 4 dog beds in the back seat of my Maverick, so at least wife and I get to occupy front seats. I am amazed at how many people base their vehicles on their animals. I have a motor home and 2/3 of the travelers buy their rigs with their pets in mind. I would not have it any other way. Have a good one.
Here’s where my dogs ride in my Mav.😂

I still have my 97 S-10, previously had a 97 Nissan pickup - the Maverick is the right length and width, definitely more comfortable but bulkier is a lot of ways. I do think the visibility over the bed and the reach in height is just a bit high (guess im a little on the short side).
No, your right.
They do sit High..
I am still getting use to all the new "blind spots".

The reason I didn't buy a new Ranger is that they made them bigger again! So glad the Maverick came out! Dimensions are fairly close to my 2011 Ranger.
My Maverick replaced a 2001 Ranger. The size in the garage (footprint) is very similar. The Maverick bed is smaller but I gained significant cab space going from a jump seat to a four door.
Of course I also upgraded from a base XLT with steel wheels, manual widows, etc. to a Hybrid Lariet delux first edition with every upgrade that was available.
The range, power, and MPG are pretty much twice as good on the MAverick.

First thing my wife said when she sat in the Maverick was "It's the same size as my Ranger (2011) was."
