Coming up on First oil change...dealer wants..what? over $200..

I went to my local Ford dealer. They said the Ford 42,000 points I have are worth $210 and that the oil change would be $200, here in Eugene,Oregon. Getting mad now...

I used points for first change at 5800 miles on my xlt hybrid and they did tire rotation too. Last Saturday my very FIRST change as oil monitor was 5% . I had a new filter left over from my Sport Trac I sold. Picked up Quaker ford spec full synthetic oil 5gallon jug+quart for 31.87. Ran truck up on ramp, used battery powered drill with bit to remove 15 screws, drained the pan then the filter. Filled the filter and put it back, torqued the drain plug at 21 lbs. Filled and started motor and let it run for 2 minutes. Checked for leaks, hand started all 15 screws with cover in place, tightened with drill and backed off the stands. Didn't spill a drop on the floor. Done in less than 90 minutes as I work slow with rock and roll music playing. I use a big piece of cardboard to scoot around on under the truck. I also check all CV and tie rod rubber for cracks (none found).

Ford wanted 92.00 for the oil change. I like to rotate tires every 5k miles so not always when oil needs changed. I rotate my own tires so I can inspect the tires for nails/objects in tread and clean and Armoral both sides of the tires. Torgue lug nuts 148lbs. Now have 14052 miles since 12/15/21 on my 73d birthday.

Yeah I'd be getting pissed to. Your dealer wants to rip you off of all your FordPass points on just one oil change. IMO find another Ford dealer in your area and move on from this one.

After the horror stories I imagined my first oil change at the purchasing dealership would be expensive. The opposite turned out to be true. $45 all in. I used ~9700 points, plus I received 1000 points after the fact for using the service. Small town dealership bargain?

I just did the first oil change on our maverick at the Ford dealer it was purchased at. 63 bucks. I'd look for a different dealer.

Our local dealer has the "Works Package" oil and filter w/tire rotation $79.95 for our Ranger. It will be the same when it comes time for Maverick service. The service includes the Motorcraft blend.

I paid $100 in St Johns, MI. That's for full synthetic and tire rotation and the usual vehicle check. I did have a slow leak in one of my tires. They took a nail out and plugged it for an additional $30. I've been getting oil changes at around 8k miles.

In Apache Jct., AZ. $129.99 for hybrid; includes tire rotation. FYI dealer uses 5mo. or 5000mi. as the interval.

I just paid 114.00 in NY for my 2nd oil change at 8k at dealer including a tire rotation. I thought that was reasonable considering the medal rock shield on the FX4 package.

Absolutely unreasonable price IMHO. I am in a high priced area. The first oil change [@ 2900 miles] in my EB, I asked and got a "senior discount" = cost me about $60 total. The second oil change [@ 6000 miles] they quoted $157. That is when I drove to Walmart, purchased 6 qts of Mobil 1 full syn, a Motorcraft 400s oil filter all for $38 and did it myself. I funneled the used oil into the jug of Mobil 1 and took it to an auto parts store that accepts recycled oil. Discount Tire did a tire rotation at 5k miles for free.

Only one in town. Going to change the oil myself...did it many times when younger. Just pisses me off..the rip off price.

First oil change at local trusted mechanic.
I bought 6 quarts of Mobil 1 and the Motorcraft filter locally. Total for oil, filter, disposal & labor was $75.11

I kept all receipts and logged the oil change in the Ford App's Service History.
