I wouldn't call it a waste of money by any means. It can be helpful in a lot of driving situations especially when you consider the cost. $560 amortized over the long term cost of a vehicle is a very small amount. Couple that with lower insurance premiums and a slightly higher resale value the cost is nothing.
XLT's with CoPilot 360 has lane keeping assist...when you are leaving your lane of traffic the steering wheel vibrates....just a lot of people need to turn it on in setup or adjust the sensitivity in the setup screen. I will never buy another vehicle without something comparable to CoPilot 360 on the XLT. The 360 can easily be turned on or off with a little button on the end of the turn signal stem... I always use it on freeway trips. The Pre-collison assist slams on your brakes if someone pulls in front of you or runs a red light...it has saved me more than once.

Co-Pilot 360 was a bargain and WELL WORTH it.
I use my eyes to stay in the lane, and shoulder check for vehicles beside me, works even better and it's free. I've driven rentals (recent 2021 Fords with co-pilot), half the time it didn't even know there was a vehicle beside me. Hyundai's system worked better, but again limited to rental cars, so you never know how well they are maintained.

Pre-collison (AEB) is not part of co-pilot and every Maverick comes equipped with it, it's a federal mandate in multiple countries the Maverick is sold in.

Couldn't agree with you more, Co-Pilot 360 is well worth the money, and really the big thing for me is BLIS with the cross traffic alert. How much is your safety really worth? I'm an old guy and can use all the help I can get. No, the car isn't going to drive itself but for $650 what did you expect.

In most people's case the CoPilot-360 came with a full size spare tire that was $150 when I ordered so the CoPilot was actually $500. Biggest issue with Co-Pilot is so many people haven't taken the time to adjust it's sensitivity to what they can get used to. Took me 2 months to adjust it to my driving.

I don't want this to devolve into whether or not driver assist technologies are worth it but study after study has show that they are helpful. They are just tools meant to assist the driver NOT replace your eyes and shoulders.

Also AEB is not mandatory in the US or Canada but in the US the NHTSA is considering it. The only other place the Mav is sold is Brazil and there ain't no fucking way AEB is mandatory there.

Your assessment of Fords BlueCruise is not very accurate either but that's a debate for another thread or more likely another forum considering the Maverick doesn't even offer it.

I can only talk about the lane centering aspect. It sucks compared to my wife’s Honda Accord.

Personal choice. I choose not to spend money on things I don't see a need for. 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure BLIS is very helpful for bad drivers who never look, or IMO more importantly older drivers and people with neck injuries who do not have the mobility in their necks for proper shoulder checks! I wish my mum's vehicle had it for example. It's just not something I am willing to pay extra for. Included in the base price? I'll take it and use it. An extra fee? Questionable. Also keep in mind, when I ordered my Maverick in 2021 Co-pilot was one of the key restraints owners were suggested to drop to get the vehicle in a timely manner.

I know some people say it improves resale value. I don't really care about resale value, I don't purchase based on what other people might want someday.

See...we've had an Odyssey since 2018 and when I use LKAS in the Odyssey (on the freeway for long road trips) after an hour or so I feel like I am fighting IT to control where I am in my lane and not consistently mind you.

WIth the Maverick - I will say it is much more sensitive to the lane lines or "barriers" and will frequently deactivate with just the little emblem as a warning however I generally find the system unobtrusive and a good aid.

Front end collision to me has been less sensitive in the Ford than my wife's odyssey and that is also another good thing.

I only paid $58 and Forscan'd my LKAS but I like the operation and functionality of it.

So if you don’t buy the CP360, you can turn on LKAS with forscan? Or did I read this wrong?

LKAS is a Honda term for lane keep assist and ForScan does not work with Hondas so I'm not sure what 710-oil-614 is on about

Check out this thread to see if you can enable lane keep assist if you don't have CP360. You will need to purchase some OEM parts and tear into the steering column. Then use ForScan to enable the option.

Might want to do some research, you are not supposed to drive hands free with blue cruse, or any of the advanced cruse control systems on the market today. People do, but they should not. Why do you think they build all kinds of features to check if the drivers hands are on the steering wheel and their eyes are on the road? It's not for laughs I can assure you.

Yes, I did that when I first got it and my review is based on it set to its strictest settings (I think I mentioned that in my post). Might just be my truck, who knows.
My experience with and assessment of the CP360 option matches yours. I have made similar comments in other threads on this topic.

Thank you for putting together this review. I have never owned a vehicle with any of these safety features, so I appreciate hearing the experiences others have with them on the Maverick.

My MY2024 Maverick will be getting built in just over 2 weeks from now. It's a Lariat EB, so it will have CP360 and CP360Assist as the Lariats are loaded by default for MY2024.

Immediately upon picking up the truck we will have several long trips to take in the USA and Mexico; definitely will be setting up and utilizing all of these features. I'll post my observations here as well.

Thanks. It is so hard to find accurate information about the CP360. I thought only the lariats had the lane keep assist.
I screen-cap'd this in the past when I was shopping for my Mav, not sure where I got it. From Ford's site, maybe?
Ford Maverick Co-Pilot review Co-Pilot 360

All models have the driver assist technology at the bottom.

I bought my XL used and the prior owner purchased CP360. I would not have chosen it as an option. Even though I've always looked over my shoulder, I have grown to like the blind spot monitoring just because it seems like the Mav has a larger C-pillar blind spot than most other vehicles I've owned which just isn't visible over the shoulder. I really dislike the vibrating steering wheel for the lane keeping alert and turned that off, but I've started to like the part of it which silently nudges the wheel (not sure what that's called) when that's detected. I'm a very analog person though and I don't know if I'll ever get used to the feeling.

I know some people say it improves resale value. I don't really care about resale value, I don't purchase based on what other people might want someday.
I could not agree more. It often seems like a lot of people are more concerned with the value of their vehicle to the next owner, and not the value to them, the current owner.

On the Lariat the Lane Centering assist part of CoPilot 360 uses both camera and radar to keep the truck in the lane unless there are no lane markers or the turn signal is on. It puts a lot of pressure on the wheel to keep it in the middle. It is different from the Lane Keeping system.
