I wouldn't call it a waste of money by any means. It can be helpful in a lot of driving situations especially when you consider the cost. $560 amortized over the long term cost of a vehicle is a very small amount. Couple that with lower insurance premiums and a slightly higher resale value the cost is nothing.
I use my eyes to stay in the lane, and shoulder check for vehicles beside me, works even better and it's free.XLT's with CoPilot 360 has lane keeping assist...when you are leaving your lane of traffic the steering wheel vibrates....just a lot of people need to turn it on in setup or adjust the sensitivity in the setup screen. I will never buy another vehicle without something comparable to CoPilot 360 on the XLT. The 360 can easily be turned on or off with a little button on the end of the turn signal stem... I always use it on freeway trips. The Pre-collison assist slams on your brakes if someone pulls in front of you or runs a red light...it has saved me more than once.
Co-Pilot 360 was a bargain and WELL WORTH it.
Pre-collison (AEB) is not part of co-pilot and every Maverick comes equipped with it, it's a federal mandate in multiple countries the Maverick is sold in.
