I like my Maverick. I wouldn't change to A GM. Nor a Chevy either. Hey-ooo. I'll be playing Vegas all week. Actually my 24 Ecoboost has an AGM battery. That was one of the first things I checked when I got it back in July.

I wonder if the MY25 Hybrid Maverick will have an AGM battery...
Now that there is one the correct size from Motorcraft (if the space for the battery remains the same), and it's probably the cheapest bidder making them in required price range - wouldn't surprise me.

Then we can distinguish the differences between cheap FLA & cheap AGM.

Just had my battery replaced a 2nd time after 4 visit in total for this issue. It is very frustrating. Thankfully the dealership is .25 miles from my house. I would be willing to change to an AMG battery once this warranty is up. My first battery replacement was in Nov 2023. Almost a year but I started having issues in August.
Sounds like a good idea but don't. My maverick just proved an AGM battery didn't fix the problem. The stealer replaced my first battery with a ford AGM battery and after 2 months, I haven't seen 12.6v. It's now 12.2v, once it drops to 11's, I'm taking it in again. It looks like it's different for every maverick. It could be a software fix too.

IMHO the Ford AGM batteries are junk. I replaced my EFB Ford battery with an AGM Interstate battery almost a year ago. My AGM battery measures 13.0 volts when fully charged. I also changed the charge level from 80% to 95%. I have had no issues since I made this change. I hope you are able to find a solution to your battery issue.

Chevy is GM so you should change it to "A GM or Dodge ".....

Agreed, most ford parts here and there are junk. I have the 2024 model, is the forscan already available? I want to change it too.

Good news is I did a BMS reset and I saw 12.6v again a few days after but still dropping by 0.01v per day, hopefully it's a cycle thing, but we'll see.

The UPLUS amazon battery referred to in this thread is currently $112 for cyber Monday.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CM3KNG1H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Although I am generally against firing off the parts cannon trying to solve problems, after reading through all this it seems like worthwhile preventive maintenance, and I know I've had cars in the past (higher mileage Audi's) that would not function correctly without an AGM battery. The only time my Prius left me stuck in 8 years was when the 12v battery failed too with a no start state since the ignition could not detect the brake was depressed.

My Weize H5 AGM has been installed for about a year, after the OEM battery started the Deep Sleep/Power Saving after just 4 1/2 months. (It was just easier, and cheaper considering my time to buy the AGM for $105, than to sit at the dealership for several hours).

The battery monitor routinely shows the battery at around 12.7-12.8 volts, as the BMS doesn't charge to 100%. Best part is the larger battery doesn't drop after ignition off, or when sitting a couple of days, whereas the OEM battery did. (The OEM drops even disconnected from the truck).

I'll likely still have the software patch applied to reduce parasitic drain when it drops early next year, but only after it's been out a while to rule out any problems.

Someone already posted how such a low quality battery has been installed in the Maverick. I agree. I've seen higher CCA's in golf cart batteries.
Unlike the ecoboost, the 12v battery in the Hybrid does not need to have very high CCAs. The ICE starting power comes from the HV battery.

I agree that all of Ford's batteries for the Maverick are crappy. Both FLA and AGM.

The battery requirements for the EcoBoost and the Hybrid are different. The AGM works better on the hybrid because it charges the battery differently. There is no alternator and short drives (15 minutes or so) are extremely effective at charging the AGM battery on a hybrid since the battery charges from the hybrid battery, not the internal combustion engine.

Your EcoBoost probably came with a Ford AGM installed. The hybrids, which need an AGM in reality, came with the flooded battery. Go figure. I suspect the EcoBoost like you have will really benefit from the software fix that is in the works, even more than the hybrid.

I just ordered this for my hybrid and the seller is sending a reconfirmation email saying I would have to pay return shipping if it didn't fit. Did anyone get the same email? I clicked on the link so hopefully it'll fit. They also said the battery would need charging prior to first use.

So since the Uplus is not longer on sale, anyone try this one or will it work?

https://amzn.to/4infJFR

Looks to me the same except the Uplus is AGM-L50-UP where The Marxon is AGM-L50-MX. UP vs MX

It is sold by UPlus as well and same manufacturer Leach Battery. Dimensions match. Did a search and only found one post that wasn't very helpful. $113 after coupon

Don't overthink it: just put any AGM battery in there, reset the BMS and call it good.

You'll find that random low battery voltage conditions & deep sleeps go away.

This is the battery I put in: UPlus AGM Group 140R, drops right in. Zero issues since installing it 15k miles ago.

Cheers!
when I click on your link and look at this in Amazon, it states it does NOT fit my 2022 Ford Maverick. Before I buy the one you list, can you verify it is the correct size? TIA

Amazon does that a lot.

If you'd rather buy a name brand AGM battery from a more reputable place than amazon, this one at rockauto fits> https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8878472
When my FLA battery eventually dies, I plan to get this one. Coming up on 20k miles and I've not had any battery issues yet. Not even a dome light outage.
