I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat and Ford still does not have an estimate on when a fix will be available...

I can't understand the concept of buying something (and for some tha'ts posted on this issue, even making the truck payments), without possession of the truck. What am I missing here?

I put a deposit down the day after Thanksgiving. The dealer I'm using has been an excellent to work with but I'm still getting lscrewed by Ford. At least my boss is letting me borrow my company truck for personal use because I don't have anything else to drive other than my 70 Duster until Ford gets this figured out. Meanwhile my first new vehicle is sitting there in the elements without any protection on the paint or miles being put on the tires or anything else

yes! i have been wondering about that. just sitting out exposed, what if it gets damaged? would the dealership fix free of charge? just a very weird gray area.

Meanwhile, your truck is sitting outdoors in a lot, likely depreciating every day; as the paint, trim and headlight lenses fade, and haze over in the sun. And the battery ages.

Since the camera recall is taking so long, it's very likely a hardware problem. And Ford doesn't have sufficient replacement parts stocked yet to fix the problem.

Is the vehicle registered and insured in your name? If not it's still on the dealership.

That just has to suck to be waiting for a truck and not being able to get it because of the recall. Or for the dealers that can't sell the trucks because of the recall. My biggest concern is the camera works fine I've not had a problem yet, it's only been 6 months but still, and I'm afraid that if it goes in for the recall that will actually mess something up.

d7602002,
When backing up in your Maverick. How much do you use your mirrors and turn your head?

I'll go back to what I said before, I believe it will require the camera to be physically replaced. When I ran into the same issue with the Explorer, it was six months until I could take it home and despite Ford's constant effort for a software fix, the issue was deemed to be the camera itself. The camera vendor used tin instead of gold on its connections. Tin corrodes, which it why using it in an outdoor setting is stupid but also why Ford took forever to figure that out.

Most of the time. I usually look to the right look to the left, I use a rear view mirror. Then I kind of glance at the camera. The main thing I use the camera for is when I'm backing into the driveway I use the camera to see the distance to the garage so I can line it up perfectly. But I will be honest I don't use the camera that often.

I'm in the same spot, we put $500 down a few days after the stop sale, on the promise it wouldn't be long. Best we hear now is March. Anything past that and we're probably jumping to another brand.

The dealer's back lot is open to the public so we've checked it a few times, no fading or damage so far.

As far as not understanding why we'd wait, someone explain to me why some people waited a year or more for the 22s.
