I just towed my Jayco trailer home yesterday. I have a 2025 XLT hybrid with tow package. My travel trailer weighs 3650 lbs. I had it delivered to the campground because I did not have my Maverick yet. The truck did great! I could feel the trailer though as I did not have the sway bars (yet). I would definitely recommend them.

Is your ball mount strait or a drop?

I like that earlier suggestion , go to a empty parking lot and practice , practice , practice .
And even if your spouse doesn't plan on driving it , make sure they practice a few basics too .

Drop. Should have been straight I’m thinking.
@Scupking I would suggest that a good course of action would be to use the jack on the front of your new trailer to lift or lower the nose of the trailer till you have it level or a slight nose down angle...now measure the distance from the ground to the top of the trailer hitch where the truck ball will sit...whatever hitch you get, make sure the top of ball on it is at this height!

When you put the weight of the trailer on your Hitch your truck will squat a bit and be where you need it.

Guessing wrong costs money and may lead to an unsafe hitch angle for the trailer. We don't want that.

Measure three times and you should be good to go, insofar as the proper hitch height is concerned.

I hope this helps,

Andy

If have a trailer jack, be sure to get in habit to chock wheels. Especially if camping on an incline. One TT owner was on incline, when he jacked trailer off hitch, it started rolling backwards…runaway! We took off running to try…..Lucky his son had chock, standing next to trailer, quickly threw chock to stop the trailer. Owner was lucky. His wife see. It, she belittled him some. I congratulated the son for his quick reaction. Happy camping!

Yes it will be parked on an incline on my driveway. I will be getting some good rubber chocks. In my case it would roll forwards.

I park my TT on a part of my yard which is a bit sloped. I used to shim and chock the wheels to get the trailer level and keep it from rolling away, but I got tired of that and laid some 2' x 2' pads on each side where the wheels sit which are perfectly level and exactly the same height. Once the trailer wheels are backed onto those pads, the trailer sits level side-to-side and it won't roll forwards or backwards. It made the whole process of unhitching less stressful. I still use chocks but they're mostly cosmetic, the trailer won't go anywhere even without chocks because the wheels are sitting on level ground

You will be close to the max towing limit when loaded up. Will be interesting how it does. We tow a 3100 lb boat thats prolly around 3200 lbs when gased up and loaded with gear. Pulls it just fine, almost as good as my hemi ram.
I'm impressed Your Maverick tows Your Boat almost as good as Your Hemi Ram Truck!!

Have towed a lot of sizes of RVs with various trucks. Your maverick may have a tow package but when that trailer is loaded imo you are going to be an accident waiting to happen or at the very least messing up your truck mechanically. A Maverick is not designed to haul travel trailers, even with a tow package. It’s a little truck.

It will be under all the max limits Ford says it's designed for so how will it get messed up? At most it probably will be around 3400lbs loaded as we won't tow with the tanks full.

Don’t forget to add weight of passengers and gear. Adds up quickly.

I guess 1990's and early 2000's F-150s ,which were about the same size as the Maverick, were also useless for towing travel trailers.
