We have been interested in getting a Travel Trailer for about 10 years. Finally bought one today. It's a 2025 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 170BH. Total length is 21ft, empty weight is 3000lbs and maxed out is 3750lb. The hitch weight is 315lbs. It's getting cold so probably won't use it until next spring. I think I got a good deal (15k out the door) since they are starting to get 2026 models in and this is the slow time of year for RV sales. I hope the Maverick will do a good job towing it. I guess I will find out when I bring it home next week.
I am sure it will.'25 Hybrid AWD

Congratulations on getting a TT, @Scupking!

I know I would be itching to get out and enjoy the freedom having a camper can bring.

If I may, I am adding a Pic of a thread I started earlier this year and is aimed at first time tow-ers.

There are members here that have huge amounts of experience towing recreationally as well as professionally, so lots of good thoughts to contribute if you have any questions. (I am a long time recreational tow-er who started on driving tractors and pulling manure spreaders as a teenager, who has learned a lot but does not know everything!)

If you wish, have a look at the thread as it may mention a few things that you may not have had to think of yet.

Take care, keep at least 12 to 15% of your tow weight on your Hitch (if you don't know about what "tail wagging the dog means, Google it) and leave room to stop between you and the cars that will probably cut you off!

Andy

Happy camping!

You should be fine. Get some clip-on or strap-on rearview mirror extensions, it'll make the tow a lot more enjoyable

Are you getting a weight distribution hitch?
Mirrors do help but I found you can also set rear camera while driving so you can see around trailer. At least on the Lariat not sure about other models.Next time I tow I will post pic and how to set it.Somehow it shrinks the width of the truck to allow to see down both sides of trailer while in drive amazing!

Lariat probably uses the 360 cameras. The XLT and XL don’t have that. I might look into wireless backup cameras.

Looks great! Looks like you are using a weight distribution hitch. How much does your rig weigh?

There is another thread here where we were chatting about rearview mirrors from zapnstrap.

I provided the contact info for the company and quite a few of us contacted the company to ask that they provide mirrors for Mavericks.

I just read recently that they are taking pre-orders so that seems to be progressing. That may be an option. They aren't cheap, but hey...what isn't?

I also like the idea of a tow cam, but can't even think about not having my old -school mirrors as well, to see where my tires TT tires are tracking on corners so I dont scrub them on curbs.

I just towed my Jayco trailer home yesterday. I have a 2025 XLT hybrid with tow package. My travel trailer weighs 3650 lbs. I had it delivered to the campground because I did not have my Maverick yet. The truck did great! I could feel the trailer though as I did not have the sway bars (yet). I would definitely recommend them.

You will be close to the max towing limit when loaded up. Will be interesting how it does. We tow a 3100 lb boat thats prolly around 3200 lbs when gased up and loaded with gear. Pulls it just fine, almost as good as my hemi ram.

Yes it has adjustable electric brakes.
Old Tractor trailer knowledge :
If it takes 200 horsepower to go from zero to sixty mph in a given distance how much horsepower is required to go from sixty to zero in that same distance ?
2,000
Yep.

You'll be fine, just don't expect to set any speed records. I've towed that with my EB and the only issues was other drivers cutting in front of me. Even with the trailer breaks it important to leave extra room between you and the vehicle in front. Of course many drivers see that as slowing them down and do some stupid things.
