Depends. Some things you can improve upon. Some things you can't.Tangent: thinking of getting an aftermarket tow package installed on my 24 hybrid XL. Would I still use the same limitations e.g., 2k lbs, as if it were a standard package?
The hitch is the same quality on both versions of the truck.
You can add a 7 pin wire harness and you can add a trailer brake controller.
You can beef up the suspension if you think it helps. (I think it helps level the truck and improves the ride.)
You can add any OBDII data reader to read the temperature of all the components from Battery temperature, transmission, motor temp, generator temp, and more. You can watch what all the internals of the truck are doing. Then, you can modify your towing / driving with confidence.
The hybrids, do not over-heat the engine while towing. The cooling system is already sufficient. Transmission stays cool while towing. It already has a transmission cooler. And liquid cooled generator and liquid cooled battery. It's very well suited for towing. No hunting for gears.
What you can't add is AWD.
