After a few thousand miles of the Big Shudder not happening at all, it has happened twice in one week. The second time I actually stayed on the gas and pushed harder. It did stop but just not as soon as letting off the gas, which is immediate. Sooner or later I will get an actual build date for my real order. Hope they solve this issue before then. Oh, and it has been near 80 deg F or higher both times so this definitely has nothing to do with the weather.

I too had it again. It was just switching to gas and I let off and it was gone. Funny thing is, it happened in the same physical location as before.

one thing i noticed is that whenever it happened, i had my A.C. on max "low" (below 62F). This has only occurred to me twice so the evidence i have is purely empirical. i normally do not have my A.C. so low, but i am going to try and keep it like that next time i drive to see if i can force the issue. i wonder if it s a situation of the A.C. pulling so much power that it has trouble starting the engine?

I had my first "shudder" event today. Sure enough, I had my AC down to 62F and was backing up a steep driveway. I have about 4500K on mine now and this was the first time I've had the temp that low and it was likely compounded by the steep climb in reverse (which I understand is all electric). It was during an IC transition.

I have less than 1000 miles on my Hybrid, and it has happened to me twice. Both in the morning on the way to work, both at the same spot... coming to a stop sign in my neighborhood, transition from ICE to electric.

I had picked up a large crack in my windshield, and it took about two weeks for my OEM windshield to come in, so I hadn't driven it in two weeks. The very next morning it happened. Big shudder, whole front end of my truck felt like it was going to vibrate itself into pieces, startled the crap out of me.
I'm wondering if my Batt was slightly lower in charge because I hadn't driven it in two weeks. I live in Tampa, so the temps here have been in the 70s and 80s.

The second time it happened was two days after the my first shudder, the second wasn't as bad as the first, but still concerning.

Hasn't happened again since I've been driving it regularly...

I have had some weird banging/changing modes as well, couple violent.

What i am seeing on mine is while going ~25mph remove foot from accelerator, regen occurs for about 1-2 secs, then the driveline shudders like 4-5 shudders then stops shuddering, vehicle glides then is ok. However frequency is getting worse, shuddering level is getting worse.

Mine did none of this when it was new to ~5000m.
Now its apparent and getting worse, frequency and level.

If o have to drive the service manager/writers/techs around i will do that so i dont accept, problem not duplicated b.s.

And repairing it, i will NOT accept we dont know how to repair it reply.

My Ranger took about 1500 miles before it learned how to shift with my driving style. If I change it up like on a long trip it takes awhile to get back to normal.
Yeah it’s not a hybrid but it makes me wonder if the same is happening here. As you learn to drive a hybrid maybe your driving habits are changing too. It’s still learning basically until you settle down into a mostly predictable pattern.

Mine did not do it new, out to about 5000m, now its getting bad on deacceleration. Its hot here 100+, today i got my first accelerating shudder, caught me off guard, usually see it deacceleration, whatever it is its getting worse and sometimes bone jarring. Mine does not seem to be brakes.

I think its mechanical mechanism breaking down.(i purpose the damper/flywheel). In a couple more months/mileage it will be easy to diagnose, if it doesnt mass failure before then.

We are collecting some good info on it.

O I picked up a Limited Edition Ford Maverick!

Which one? Is it the Raptor? King Ranch? Or Tremor?

No it's called Ford Maverick Big Shudder! Haha it seems funnier in my head!

This happened to me twice in my ownership I took delivery February 2022. I’ve definitely noticed it when the Engine was cold.

Even in a warmer climate like Hawaii, when the ICE is cold it’s prone to the shudder. Once I’ve noticed taking off from a complete stop and another I’ve noticed coming to a stop the engine decided to come on. However both occurrences the Temp was at the “C” Level or just slightly above “C”. Seems like once it’s warmed up to the middle it doesn’t do it.

With each occurrence, I let go of the accelerator or brake and re-attempted and it seemed to be okay afterwards.

I’m hoping it can be fixed with a software update. Every hybrid I’ve owned till this one.. once the ignition is keyed the ICE will start to warm the engine up, but the Maverick you can start the ignition and drive a few miles lightly before the engine decides to turn on. Perhaps the drivetrain needs to be a certain temp in order to function correctly? My guess is as good as yours.
