Do it and move on. AGM is the answer. And yes, all the sites that sell AGM batteries will say it won't fit. Just find a battery that is similar in dimensions and it will fit. Web sites systems won't allow AGM to be a replacement battery, that's why it will say "not for your vehicle"I have a 22 Maverick Hybrid and in the last 3 months have been getting battery saving message. For awhile every other day, now almost daily. Had battery checked while sign on 11.6, tested fully charged 11.8 and 12.6. Battery under warranty but because it's up to 12.6 not covered. When I asked dealer if I bought an AGM battery would they reset system up to accept the new battery, they said sure bring new battery in they'll put it in, reset computer and I can be on my way.
I wonder why?I've not had this issue in over a year/18k+ miles of ownership.
I would hope you wouldn’t have this issue taking these measures.I also pulled Telematics fuse #11 early on. And use a battery tender when not driving for a few days.
Or you could save yourself a trip to the dealer and spend less than a half hour and install it and reset the BMS yourself. Pretty easy to do.When I asked dealer if I bought an AGM battery would they reset system up to accept the new battery, they said sure bring new battery in they'll put it in, reset computer and I can be on my way.
I also have a hybrid Maverick I got in 5/22. I only had one "deep sleep" message (2023 on a super cold winter day). I also have 34K miles now.I just had my Maverick in for 5 recalls. While I had it there I mentioned the Deep Sleep/Battery Saver mode that had just started about a month ago. I had driven the truck the week before about 50 miles, and had the Battery Saver message 2 hours after that trip. They said the Battery checked ok and all it needed was a charge. This Maverick was purchased 5/22 and it has 34,000 miles on it. It only had two "Deep Sleep" messages in the last 2 1/2 years. I really think the battery is not taking a charge as well as it used to. I was hoping they would warranty it, but I may have to do what others have done and get an AGM battery.
I'm not very techy, so are you sure it would be pretty easy to do for me?Or you could save yourself a trip to the dealer and spend less than a half hour and install it and reset the BMS yourself. Pretty easy to do.
It’s literally removing the negative battery cable, then the positive battery cable, swap batteries, attach positive battery cable, attach negative battery cable. You also have to attach the vent tube. Then Reset BMS.I'm not very techy, so are you sure it would be pretty easy to do for me?
