Your display parameters will also change the brightness for the back up camera. Has anyone checked their parameters before and after the update? Its possible the default intensity setting was changed in the new release. Just curious, since some folks notice a change and others don't.
Mine was default mid-level before and after.

I checked all the settings - because I kinda figured Ford would not be nice and retain the settings as that would require extra work. Perhaps that is actually part of the tech process and could still be screwed up on individual basis.

I'm sensing more a matter of 24MY or prior being the difference.

Had to run some errands this afternoon with about maybe 6 times shutting off the truck and starting back up it went right to the preset screen every time. Same FM station too. Hope this helps.
Don't suppose they fixed the dodgy flash drive playback? Mine randomly on startup doesn't find the flash drive and defaults to FM. At some point in the drive it discovers it again, re-indexes, and of course resets the playlist.

As for the backup camera, I've only experienced one freeze and one stutter in 15 months and 20k mi. I'm holding on recalls/TSB's until they have a fix for the 12v battery SOC (which hasn't caused me any angst, either).

I just got my Maverick back for the backup camera recall. When backing up into my garage is it supposed to beep when I'm getting closer to back wall or an object....I can't remember if had done this before.

They gave me a F-150 as a loaner (way to big for me) and when I backed it up into my garage it beeps when I got closer to the back of the garage. I would assume this would be true for my Maverick as well.

One more thing, I have the 2022 hybrid XLT with the luxury package & 360

Just got the rearview camera recall on my 2022 hybrid XLT. Mobile tech at house, took 45 minutes.

Screen is noticeably brighter. It also seems clearer -- like higher resolution -- but that could be because the brighter screen is better for my old eyes. Whatever it is, it's a big improvement. The entertainment screens are easier to see and the backup camera images are improved.

My daughter got in the truck with me to run an errand and she noticed the difference in the screen immediately. It looks more like the screen in my wife's 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend. Which I have envied since she got it.

One more thing I have noticed is that now as long as the phone is on, once it is plugged in CarPlay will activate. Previously needed to bring up the Home screen in order for it to work.

Pretty much everything with the infotainment is better now.

No, that requires proximity sensors, not just a rear camera.

Hmmm... I haven't gotten the recall yet, waiting for an appointment when I get into town.
2023 XLT Lux my Android auto pops up on the screen the minute I plug my phone in.
I did have this pop up on my screen the other day, when I was backing out.

I just had the 24S59 recall completed by a mobile tech in my driveway. The screen is
definitely brighter. The TPMS was unaffected this time (tech confirmed that prior recalls needed a re-learn) and RCS messaging still does not work.
I thought it was interesting that the mobile tech had my current odometer reading pre-printed on the repair order, so FordPass data is clearly accessible by the dealer and potentially by others such as insurance companies.

Well - I followed my own advice in prior post about settings and changing to match what was going on.
I noticed on the last startup where it went to the Home screen instead of my last used radio preset screen - the Home icon/button actually wasn't Blue like it was selected. Despite that being the display it was on.
So I tapped that Home icon so it matched the display.
Truck off, on.
Now Home display with blue icon.
Changed to radio preset screen.
Truck off last night.
This morning started on my desired screen.

I'll know when I leave work if that was truly it.

Just glitchiness - like the times it would display outdoor temp, but not my cab selected temp.
Well, my hopeful fix for the annoyance of sometimes starting on the home screen, sometimes my last used radio presets screen - was not fixed by the above after all.

Keeps popping between one or the other, I'm not seeing a reason why.
Short or long off-time.
Thumb drive media scan sooner or later (though I haven't ended a drive using it anyway).

I haven't been good at observing if climate set temp is always displayed, as many times I'm not messing with it - we have been having comfy temps 40-60 F.

After getting the Forscan Lite upgrade, and phone/app set back up with truck, I noticed there was an error DTC in the Air Conditioning Control Module - failure to communicate with ECM. No date code as to when it happened, so cleared it.
I'm not in habit of looking for any DTC's that might have occurred without the MIL on, so no idea how long it's been stored.

Backup video still good enough as it was prior.

I'll have to test that ability to go higher on screen brightness, see if it actually does or not.

I have not pulled the trigger yet. I have owned Moto's in the past and always happy with them. Thank you, you have given me food for thought. (y)
Not an apple fan so much. Moto g stylus 5G (ST2131DL) was a good buy for a 5G at about $50 Memorial Day last year. One of the two Shopping Networks, but both had the same model for almost the same $$. More than meets my needs. Same comment, the camera just not up to Samsung, but the rest quite decent. I do not add lots of apps, and use the phone for phone, and taking pics of stuff I can no longer remember adequately. Yes, on SocSec, and pushing 80, so I don't care for all those 'things' that seem to make apple products so enticing. I thought them way overpriced back in 1978 and they have stayed on my no-buy list since then for that and the 'do it our way, or find some other product that lets you choose' attitude.
An old grump, GrumpyUnk on the net...

If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, I would recommend the Motorola Moto G Power 5G - 2024. Here's the deal. The G Power was a $300 phone when released. Practically every spec on the Moto is better than the Samsung A16. Because the Samsung was released as a $200 phone. Today the G Power 5g (2024) is $170 on Amazon. Multiple reviews listed the 2024 G Power as the best $300 phone. It's fantastic $170 phone.

Compared to Samsung's A16, You get a faster processor and the full 8GB of RAM that Android works best with. 128GB of storage. Wireless charging and faster (30 watt) wired. The screen is an LED but it's a premium (IPS) LED. Gets plenty bright. It has a headphone jack and Moto still builds FM radio into their phones with a headphone jack. And as someone coming back to Motorola from a Pixel (my 5a went belly up last week) I must say I soooo missed the Motorola motions (twist wrist twice to open camera, chop twice to turn flashlight off and on)

Where the Samsung is better is the camera. Motorola has never prioritized the cameras in their phones. The moto's camera is just adequate. And as you mention number of software updates. But I'd take the software updates with a dose of caution. It's probably not realistic to expect a phone with a just barely fast enough processor and just barely enough memory to be something you want to use four years (and android updates) from now. One Android update and three years of security updates is plenty enough for an inexpensive phone.
I second this recommendation as both the wife and I have the Motorola Moto G Power 5G - 2023 model and love it.

Here are the SPECS:

Specifications - moto g power 5G - 2024

We bought two of the Motorola Moto G Power 5G - 2023 about a year ago in March 2023 and total cost was $454.56 for the two phones plus two cases and tax from Amazon.

I also like that it still has a headphone jack.

Specifications - moto g power 5G (2023)

Our version has 6GB of RAM and 256GB of Storage.

They cost us $199.99 each and now cost $264.99 on Amazon
