Mine doesn’t work on short trips around town but when I drive up to Orlando ( 55 miles ) it seems to wake up! That’s ok with me since I end up sitting at stoplights for longer periods of time up there.

Been on a few long highway trips and don’t work then either. Going to get the battery tested.

If battery fixes it I'll likely add an Eliminator or look around for a hack.

About 3 months now. Quite happy about this and nothing else seems affected. I have no inclination to mention the failure when I get the blinker recall addressed.

anyone else have this crap out ? This could possibly indicate a battery that doesn’t fully charge ?
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Checked this morning on my EB XL: If you go to the center screen and the Information Menu, then select AutoStartStop, the reason is displayed. Photo was taken with engine just started.

Scroll up to the information screen on your gauge cluster menu. One of the options in the information tab is "Auto Stop/Start". It will tell yo why it is not active. It might say Running due to low temp, or running charging. If it is giving a reason, or the reason doesn't make sense, (your temp gauge is showing normal operation temp, and the heater is not set to "inferno", then you could have it looked at. If it always says due to charging, have your battery checked, and load tested.

As others have stated here, I just put the battery on a trickle charger overnight and the problem went away. I only drive short trips so the battery is apparently not getting a full charge. Someone else noted that the charging system may not even charge the battery under some circumstances so that the mpg ratings are higher. Thanks Ford.

Just saw your location is Ontario and I assume it is not the one in Equator where the temperature is so high to melt your wires.

In the vehicle manual, it says the cold temperature is one of the reasons why auto start/stop stop. I had the same question before when it turned colder last fall and I saw the behavior went away in the warmer days. I think I'm satisfied with the explanation.

I had the same experience. When it was cold and I was using my heated seats, it never worked. As soon as it warmed up and I turned the heated seats off, it would shut down at the intersections.

I did not like it though, and bought the start/stop eliminator so I wouldn't have to override it each time.

Yes I have this issue (non issue for me). Started last summer. I have had the truck since 4/15/22. About 2 months ago I keep getting Ford pass app msg that- "remote features are disabled...... drive the Maverick to charge the battery" AFTER I just drove it.
So after reading in the forum about a BMS-battery management system reset to fix battery issues I did a reset. No more Ford app messages, no start up problems and the auto stop/start is still not working as far as I know. 😁
