Hey, I agree with you all and I certainly don’t want rust on my 5000 mile truck, but the warranty says they won’t cover it. A few other have stated that above. If you can get them to treat the areas, that’s great, and hopefully it’ll become a recall. I’ve fought Mitsubishi of American on a corrosion issue and lost — it was months of aggravation and I’m not doing it again.Normal? No. There are plenty of other brands that show rust like that but only after several years and tens of thousands of driving miles. Some brands show no rust at all. This is 100% an issue of how the metal was treated prior to painting. Ford knows how to properly treat metal. This is either due to cost savings measures or manufacturing defect. Whatever it is, it is not normal nor is it acceptable.
I think this is “normal” when considering that we bought the absolute cheapest vehicle in the companies American lineup. Corners we were cut to save costs
I REALLY hope they do something about it, but I’m just not getting my hopes up or wasting time worrying because i think I know the answer already.
