Any Reliable LED for 3rd Brake Light?

I'm a big fan of Diode Dynamics, but it's hard to beat OEM. An LED third brake light from an F150 is a direct fit. I believe there may be a couple variations of plugs, but the colors are the same as our trucks if you want to cut and crimp/solder. I bought one on eBay for about $100 IIRC, just be sure it comes with a wire harness and you're in business.

I feel like this is the way. Anything less is temporary lol

Fanteli combo pack strobing 3rd and cargo bulbs, installed early 4/2026. No wiring, just plug in.
I use latex gloves when installing bulbs.
So far, still good...

Same reason the clearly fits H4 AGM battery used in the exact same space on 25/26MY is shown as not fitting the pre-25's.

It's not the spec exactly.

Like the bulb I got - declared W21W is not the spec'd size. And few vendors are taking the time to cross match if it might work anyway.

The OP didn't have the same luck you did with Lasfit.

I have actually seen that a lot of people have not. I think I read somewhere that LasFit bulbs have become another Chinese junk product.

One of the first mods I made to my 23 Maverick was Lasfit Switchback front turn signals and cargo lights.
I absolutely love the Switchback white/yellow turn signals. White running/parking then flashes yellow for the turn signal. I don't want anybody to be able to say they didn't see my turn signal.

The drivers side occasionally hyper-blink, if I leave it on too long.
On the exterior they don't seem to Blink as fast as it's showing on the dash panel but they do speed up.
I could see the reflection on the back of a van in front of me.

As for the cargo lights. The driver side is starting to slowly die. I almost had a light a match to see if it was still on.

I had Lasfits, failed within a year, replaced under warranty, failed within the 2nd year. Did a search for alternate bulb vendors but nothing that wasn't Chinesium and also plug & play.

Bit the bullet and went with the Morimoto X3B module, it's fully plug & play with no resistors or splicing needed, though getting the wire harness bracket to release to have enough slack without dropping the headline was a bit of a pain.

Worth it for a permanent solution and looks great if you have the Black Appearance Package or are picking up the Form Lighting LED tail lights as well.

I have as well, and I'm thinking that we probably shouldn't be suggesting them to any MTC members knowing how bad their track record is.

Does anyone know of a reliable brand for a 3rd brake light LED? I had 2 Lasfit LED's installed and both lasted under a year. I've seen others mention Diode Dynamics but they only had cargo lights listed and nothing for the 3rd brake light for the Maverick. Looking for something that lasts more than a year. Ready to put the OEM bulb back in lol.

I purchased a strobe 3rd brake light bulb that flashes 3 times whenever I apply my brakes. Got it from Amazon. No issues. I'd post a link, but I looked up my purchases and Amazon posted that the bulb was not compatible with the 2022 Maverick. I haven't had any problems so I don't know how accurate that is, but decided not to post the link so as not to put out incorrect information.
UPDATE: I just remembered how Amazon does not like anything that isn't OEM spec for the Maverick which is why they post the "Does not fit" narrative.

I lost respect for Lasfit after they all but guaranteed rear LED brake light compatibility with the Maverick after the hyper flash recall and modification. While I don't blame Lasfit for the sudden incompatibility with the reset, they should have tested those new bulbs before claiming a fix. None of the bulbs worked.

I also replaced the turn signal and marker lights with the Lasfit LEDs. I swear one could use those turn signals as fog lamps they're so bright. I have also experienced the hyper flashing if the turn signals are on for a long period of time. Very odd, but at least I now know it isn't a just me issue.
