Wait till one tows a light trailer.

My old F250 diesel short wheelbase has small fuel tank. Towing our 5th wheel didn’t get good range. So I installed a 35 gallon aux tank in bed, did fuel transfers into main tank. That gave us great range, and no worries hunting for a fuel station. Especially in AZ and UT regions.
That's a fact. You can include Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana too.
It also keeps those pesky EV's from really touring too far from the few known chargers along highway's.. We like keeping them on a short leash out here.
I can always carry one of my atv gas cans gives me an extra 250 miles. Good luck doing that with an EV.

I filled my bed with two - 100 gallon tanks from a semi truck if that would work for you

After leaving Custer, we headed to Montana, w stop at Devils Tower, and Cody. Best I can recall, no issue of fuel enroute. After Yellowstone, drive thru Idaho heading for Salt Lake City. No issues with fuel places enroute. Anywhere to Moab is tough. See a station, below 1/2 tank, best stop and top off.

Not quite "Anywhere to Moab" but I had a close call in northern Utah/southeastern Idaho. I got somewhere north of Tremonton on I-84 and had something like one third of a tank. Figured I was fine for a bit longer and that I would have some options. Barely made it to the ONE fuel station on I-84 that was remotely in range of my "miles to empty" estimate at the time I realized I might have a problem. And the fun part was that Google Maps told me they were only open until something like 6 PM and it was at that point, I think, something like 5:30. Place called "Sublett", which is one mom and pop gas station and nothing else. The gas pumps screen say "Welcome to the middle of nowhere". And when your transaction is done, the thank you screen says something similar, but not quite the same.

So yes, I heartily agree with the "See a station, below 1/2 tank, best stop and top off." mantra.

When EV drivers stop in asking about Chargers and plugs those same mom and pop owners say, 'We ain't got no silly chargers and plugs.' 🤣

The funny part about this station in Sublett was that all the pumps except for one had vehicles parked at them. No occupants. No pumping of gas. Like they used it for parking. The entire time I was there I saw zero people. And this included me hanging out at my pump booking a hotel room on my phone for about 15 minutes. It was weird. But the gas was flowing and I needed it. So I did not ask any questions. Haha.

Here is a small gas station in a small Utah town. Not a supercharger in sight.

I have under 700 miles in 6 months of ownership of a Maverick and put 12 gallons in 3 times to keep the gasoline tank from condensation in the fuel system. I would like to have 8 gallon gas tank for the hybrid(I'm get 58.8 MPG)

Talking about the few stations in UT, in our F250 and 5th wheel, we dId couple nites at Cadillac campground in Bluff, just south of Moab. Tiny place, the 2 cg’s there bigger than town!. Used it as a jump off to Monument Valley. The drive to the valley was a good days drive. Then question of fuel cropped up. No stations in Bluff or anywhere. Fuel not critrically low, but feel better with both tanks full. The only so call fuel in Bluff was an above ground tank on skid with so so pump. Fearing rusk of contamination, decided not take fuel here. We left Bluff for Four Corners, and Durango. While enroute, lo and behold, a station in middle of nowhere pops up. New one! Now don’t question price, just fill up, cause have long way to go, not knowing if any other stations up these lonely hilly roads.

Looks like above ground skidded fuel tanks.

With property in both Utah and Nevada. You can get to nowhere real quick out here. In that situation like yours. You don't question the price and you don't question what tier gasoline it is. Otherwise you may hear 'NO GAS FOR YOU.' 😲
