Ok... So who's going to run their hybrid until it stops on the side of the road then tell us how much it took to refill? Come on, do it in the name of science!

Funny enough, so I drove my '15 Edge until it had 8 miles range on the computer. Refilled with 15.1 gallons, which is in line with what it takes when I am about to that point. I get average about 22 mpg, so figure it's a half gallon or so left.

I have never looked up the size tank, just know the vehicle from years of fill ups over 140k miles. Always assumed around 15.5 or 16 gallons. Apparently it's reported at 18... So opposite issue. Not a help for this discussion, but I found it ironic/humorous.
Check out Blake's Cars on Youtube. He has had many Mavericks. He had both hybrid and ecoboost models. He actually ran the hybrid out of gas then drove until the battery shut down too. Can't remember what he said. He had a gas can he emptied into the tank to drive it again. Both of those Mavericks he was planning to sell before doing it.

12.91 to first click with 1/4 tank showing.

Yet a different pump in CA with 3/8 showing. Never been to the same pump twice. 😄

Last one, CA pump, first click, 1/4 tank showing.

BTW that was 665 miles with 1/4 showing so I'd be comfortable with 700+ miles.
$4.86/gal? yikes

The real question would be; What is the trip computer calibrated to as far as the Miles remaining?

That's why I'm happy this truck gets 55 miles to a gallon and "about" 800 miles per tank! I only need to get gas once a month.

Someone soon will say "that's only because you're not using heat or air conditioning". Correct.

Also correct is I'm not using heat or air conditioning at home either. So my cost of living balances out somewhat living in coastal California. Also why it is so crowded here. People love the weather.

Is it possible that my Lariat Hybrid has a 16.5 gallon gas tank? I was at a station for my first fill-up after almost 560 miles (computer stated @ 38.9 mpg ) when I stopped the pump after pumping 16.1 gallons. I wasn't quite on empty when I stopped for gas. I went inside and complained to the cashier that I only had a 13.8 gallon tank. He stated for me to call the Department of Agriculture 800# on the sticker at the pump. I did, but it was a holiday last Friday and got a recording and I forgot to call today - but will call tomorrow.

But what if....I don't want to seem like an idiot.
