I know others have had different experiences, but my latest trip to CO had the following results.

2529 total miles, 97.25 gal of gas used = 26.00, just like the dash monitor shows.

Close enough for me. No adjustment via Forscan, factory settings. OEM tires.

I have a hybrid, and I think my actual mpg is about 2 below what the dashboard calculates. I'll double check it the next time I fill up...in 2 weeks. :)

I have a 2025 hybrid and the dash is normally off (shows higher mpg than what I actually get doing the calculation myself) 5-8% occasionally it’s close.
Some on the forum have had success reprogramming the dash. I have tried numerous times and have not been able to change it.

2024 Ecoboost... Checked my mileage (calc vs dash) for 10 fillups before adjusting the dash to closer numbers. Changed a little a couple times since. Seems to be damn close now. Yes, sometimes I have issues adjusting, though normally no more than 3 tries. lol. Just wish there was a way to adjust the dash numbers (without Forscan) for my smaller snow tires.

2025 Hybrid. Mine is off by about 2-3 mpg when I hand calculate vs what the display says. So the display always shows higher mpg.

Checking it requires planning by recording mileage at fillups, math, and me being the one that fills it. I can do math. My wife fills it over half the time and doesn't reset the mileage, and I know she won't log the mileage in a book or write it on the receipt, if she gets one. So, I just blindly accept what the truck says. It's good enough for me!

Don't know if my 2022 XLT Hybrid is off, but even if it shows 2-3 mpg higher, I'm still getting right at 40MPG for the whole time between oil changes. I hope it does exaggerate a little. It makes me feel good!! My wife tells me I'm good in bed; so, I've learned to enjoy good lies.

I'd say that's pretty spot on. Perfect as a matter of fact.👍👍
I hope you're enjoying your trip.
Unless you're back home already?

Of course most are off 2 mpg, near tanks end check your average mpg against your trip meter. Then do the paper and pencil methods.
Ford builds this in on purpose so they can claim more mpg’s.
They are also counting on us old guys who can think it through and see the truth to die out.
My Eco shows me 29 on my local roads, I know it’s 27 mpg.
It also shows me 31-32 on the interstate and I know it’s 29-30.

ill edit with a pic later. East Texas to SLC Utah this past weekend, 28.5 mpg, spot on with hand calculation. didnt try for good MPG, and had cruise set at 73-77 most of the trip, and absolutely drove like a maniac through the mountains.

Same with mine but it is what it is and I don’t stress out over it!

It's a well PROVEN FACT the dash readouts run 5% higher than real.

This is true across many makes and models.

Law of Averages means some people will hit spot on some of time.

When betting pink slips, always consider the factory set dash to be 5% high.

This can be user adjusted / corrected on some makes and models.

I manually changed the correction factor in mine to 950/1000. 95%

My dash shows 95% of what the computer thinks my MPG is.

48 MPG computed displays 45.6 MPG.

I run a spreadsheet and record calculated and truck reported mileage. Over 18 fill ups, the truck over reported mpg 11 times with the worst at 5 mpg. The truck under reported mpg 7 times with the worst being 3 mpg. If I average averages it is very close. This is a 25 hybrid AWD. My driving is really all over the place with interstate, city, and highway driving but there is no daily drive so from tank to tank the type of driving can be very different. It seems maybe the truck computer can calculate some types of driving better than others. I'm averaging 40 mpg.
