Finally got gas. First tank so I wasn't comfortable going more than a mile past zero. If there's half a gallon left (pretty sure there is 1 gallon left) this is an 800 mile tank in real-world conditions. 90% daily commute. But for 25 miles I hauled a few hundred pounds of concrete blocks, and for 25 miles I pulled a 3000 pound trailer at city speeds. Ya really! Otherwise my MTE would have been higher.

First image trailer trip one-way on this tank:

Second: before fill up
Thrid: After fill up.
This was the gas provided by the dealership. I'm sure they did nothing to "top off" since it was money out of their pocket. Was about 11.x miles on the truck when I got it.
Last image, my first fill up. Expensive in SF. Now you'll understand how important 50+ MPG is!

I'm doing my own series of experiments with the different driving modes currently. I obviously don't have nearly as many miles or fuel fill ups as you. That being said what speed would you say is the best currently for your total overall miles per gallon? The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to get a sense while I'm out there testing the vehicle of gauging if there is a sweet spot speed that I could maintain in keeping with safe driving and traffic flow to set myself up for.

Wind resistance goes up exponentially with speed so slower is always better. But ya gotta get to where you are going.

40-50 MPH is great. 55 MPH not bad either.

75-80? Bad. 😎

I’m ok with not joining the 700 Club. I fill up when the light comes on and I’m at 2000 miles for my 3rd fill up, I can live wit that

Posted this in the 600+ mile club thread yesterday- thought I'd drop it in here as well
IMG_1879.jpeg

Just filled up for the first time this morning. Went 702.5 miles on first tank- mostly around town driving, 10% or less on highway/expressway. Drove mostly in Eco mode, although I tried both Normal and slippery modes- couldn't tell much difference in my limited experience. My low fuel/25 mile to empty light came on at 685 miles. Filled up at $2.90/gallon (87 octane) and it took 14.08 gallons, so that was $40.82 to fill up (stopped as soon as it clicked off). So I averaged almost 50 miles/gallon and I calculated ~5.8 cents/mile. My wife drives a Toyota RAV4 Prime exclusively in electric only mode (all local driving) and she ends up paying 3.4 cents/mile based on our local rates from Duke Power in SC. Love both vehicles, not a direct comparison (apples/oranges), but if they came out with a plug-in Maverick I'd be very interested. I sure one of my kids would be happy inherit my Maverick when I get something new. Until then- it's a keeper.

Lots of indicators are pointing out that a PHEV Maverick is coming, I'm hoping for 2024 since Ford has announced that there are no rollovers from 2023 to 2024. Also there is a mule running around that is a PHEV.

Would love to know how much driving your wife does. I have a 17 miles commute and have charging at work, so a PHEV for me would be great. Does your wife ever use the hybrid feature on the prime?

My wife has a very short commute to work with the RAV4 Prime- 6 miles round trip/day. Most of the other trips (shopping, etc.) are also close by, so she's able to drive around exclusively on electricity. We charge at home using a level 2 charger, which usually give us a 50-54 miles of range. Once or twice a month we do longer drives of about 70 miles, so we drive the highway portion of the trip, (about 25 miles) in hybrid mode since we don't have enough electric range for the whole trip. I've never tried to carefully measure our mpg in hybrid mode.

I only get 700km then agian it's the turbo not hybrid
I’ve made the 600 club with my 22 Lariat EB AWD averaged like 37.6 mpg and I once made a short trip of 45 miles where I averaged 45.4 mpg, but I’m not even going to try to reach the 700 club. Even with the 16.5 gallon tank I’d have to average 42 mpg.

I am getting pretty good numbers for living in the mountains....
This is over 3000 miles or so. I am now over 4000 total miles, clocking 54.3 and rising as the temperature increases. Mine stays on gas when really cold, and hurts my economy.

I'm seeing that actual mpg is about 6% less than the computer estimates. Anyone else have opinions? Got about 51 real mpg's on this tank.

Yes, if the truck says, 59 MPG, and I do the manual calculation, I get 2 MPG less.

Very common.
So universal, it's evidence it is intentional.

My 2019 Honda Insight matched actual mileage almost perfectly with the onboard computer. It, however, was not a truck. I'll take the Maverick.

My last Fill up was my best tank so far. Here are the last 10 tanks for my Hybrid, as you can see, the MPG is going up, and yes, I have owned my truck for a year and have filled it up 26 times.
