I'm going to look into a different exhaust and reached out to Panda Motorworks since they participate here and have posted on YouTube some samples. I'll see what they can recommend as I am not looking for a performance exhaust system. I was coasting down a ramp at 25MPH this morning and could hear the drone in the back as I was coasting. It is not tire noise. I have not swapped out an exhaust in over 30 years, but the Maverick's looks to be really simple. Maybe too simple. At least if I do it now with it being new, I won't need to heat anything up under there with all that felt material. I might have received a Mexican muffler on the assembly line that is missing a baffle. I'll make this truck mine yet for the long haul.

Not sure I'm following your strategy here. If you could hear the noise coasting at 25 mph, it isn't likely from the exhaust.

Anyway, we are 4 pages in and there are all kinds of theories as well as an odd sidebar on GPFs... Can you drive around with your phone and record a short video of the noise? That would give your remote support team a much better shot at narrowing down the cause.

I recommend you look at the “coming soon” Magnaflow Exhaust. It was my first choice - but was not available when I upgraded my 2025 exhaust last year. Installed a nasty loud system instead that I had to add a resonator to make it drivable.

You might already know that Magnaflow is known for its low key rumble. I’m going to consider replacing my still too loud & drony aftermarket setup with the new Magnaflow for the refreshed EB. They offer a system for with or without GPF:

Is there a way to display the transmission gear on my dash like I could my 10 Speed on my old F-150? The transmission was downshifting and holding me back. Kind of like as if I was downshifting with a manual transmission in my old 91 Ranger 5 speed and you would get back pressure in the exhaust. Not good with tech but I will try to see what I can do in the audio department.

Gear display only on the Lobo model. Same with LED fog lights.

Dealer's vehicle fetcher drove it over 100 miles on 4 lane roads so I'm afraid that we're too late. I try to vary my speeds and RPM's for the first 1000 miles and drop the oil and engine filter between 1000 & 1500 miles. Please excuse me as I climb under my desk for shelter. I am old school with the 4000 mile or so oil changes. I do keep the RPM's down which appear to run just under 3000 RPM's on the highway. This transmission behaves so much better than the 8 speed I had in a 2017 Colorado or a 10 speed in a F-150. The 2.0 rattles more than my old 2.7, but nothing unusual about that. I have a 1.5T in an Equinox with 70 less HP.

I confirmed when I purchased this vehicle that it did not have the GPF as that would have been a no go. It was ordered and shipped to a Wisconsin dealer. I noticed the other day the so-called resonator.
I wouldn't worry about driving at 70mph during "break in" at that speed you should be just under 2K rpms. You might try cycling through the different drive modes at 70 to see how the sound changes, if it doesn't then it's not an exhaust system issue.

The one guy on here swapped a Magna Flow muffler onto his 2025 with the 2.0 EB. The muffler is like $139.00 that would be a much cheaper option than a new exhaust. He has a Thread on here with sounds clips IIRC.

I could not get an audio on my iPhone that you could properly hear what is annoying me. At 70 MPH, Sports Mode did have a noticeable change for the better to the tone compared to the other modes that was not noticeable. RPM's jumped up approximately 200-300 on my dash. I went back and forth in the modes numerous times. I say it is exhaust. What is the deal with that resonator on the tailpipe that looks like a patch? Anyway, I started adding sound deadener behind the rear seat. Started at the top and got as far as about 8 inches above the floor before I ran out of time with the weather. I will slowly continue when weather and time off coincides with each other to add material up to the carpeting in front of the rear seat storage. Doing the simple to access areas first to see what happens. I need to use the truck to go out of town this weekend.

It sounds like in Sport Mode the engines not lugging as much at the higher RPM to make the drone noise.

I was off of work yesterday and spent most of the afternoon removing the rear under seat storage compartment to add sound deadener from the carpeting to just below the holes for the rear clips for the plastic compartment. That alone was a significant change in what I was hearing. Still need to finish under and behind the seat in the future, but F100Lobo had the right idea. I covered almost every square inch of the space with material. Maybe what F100Lobo did would have been sufficient, but I had the material and did not want to have to tear the plastic out again. Hoping that covering the rest of the area will make it even better. I am still open to swapping out the exhaust if I can find something better.

Exhaust and 3 Yr./36 Month Warranty??? Oh I know it well. The muffler on my 2004 Ranger rusted out in less than 3 years, and I had to pay for a new exhaust system. Service department thought they could get a refund from Ford under the emissions coverage, but it was denied along with Ford area service rep denying coverage. The replacement was still in good shape 11 years, 50,000 miles or so later when I traded it in. I will have to look at the new Mavericks on the lot this weekend if it stays dry.
While you are there look under a Bronco to see if that hook attaches somewhere. Ford has been going to the universal fit system so only one part has to be made for everything. That hook in not on the 2025 AWD.

What did you use for deadener?
I also covered the outer sides of the plastic storage bin with 4mm foam.
I noticed a difference with every area I covered.

I used Siless Max 120 mil (3mm) under the compartment. I also have Siless Hybrid 3in1 200 mil which contains foam. I have layered the Hybrid over the Siless Max where there is nothing plastic laying on top of it . Otherwise it can get built up where it will be too thick for the clips to fully insert. I did not layer the plastic storage bin as my thoughts were that it was the metal itself that would be the source of the drone. Bang on that tin underneath the storage compartment and it sounded like banging on an empty 55 gallon drum. The muffler is not that far away from that area. I originally purchased Kilmat 50 mil which is too thin. I am going to use that under the hood in the recessed areas, and the fenders of this vehicle and my Equinox later this year when I rotate the tires.
