I think it is a solid mix of sewing machine and paint can mixer.

I think it sounds like shit but I also am used to EBs and it is a truck so I don't mind the engine noise no matter how pathetic it might be.

I'm no stranger to the lifter noise either especially coming from a Triton 3V years ago, but yea, it's a pretty unique and hilarious sound in the 2.0. This is my first EB and turbo engine. Lots of people complain about the never ending "RPM's" of the 2.5 paired with the eCVT, but it didn't bother me at all. I actually kind of enjoyed it. So you either get a sewing machine or a version that never shifts lol.

Like @crunchie_frog said, engine cover will tone it down a little.

Only time i really notice it after adding my engine cover is on cold start.

Under hood insulation would help too.

My Flex 3.5 Duratech had loud injectors also.

Same noise on my, well City's, Interceptor 3.5 Duratech.

If you hear a ticking or rattling under the hood, I can guarantee it is the high pressure fuel injector pump. I had a 2012 Focus and a 2013 Explorer that both did this and it was that fuel pump under the hood.

Have had 2 24's, clicky on cold start in garage, both run very smooth. No big deal.

My 2013 Ecape made it to 75K without any engine issues, quieter running engine but bad drive shaft center carrier bearing and noisey rear end whine. Maverick doesn't use those same to parts so hopefully those noises will never show up...at 15K and only noise is the cheap speaker grill rattle that will get fixed. I wouldn't get this truck without an extended warranty though if you want 100K out of it...it won't make it without a mechanical repair of some type...like control arm bushing issues.

Most american made won't but we had many Toyotas and Hondas in our families that easily did it

Lexus. I have had several with no issues at all except normal maintenance items. Oil and filter, tires, and brakes.

Thanks for the link but I have seen none of the listed issues on my Lexus ES models. I only had 1 issue with my first Maverick that was a failed fuel tank pressure sensor. My MY22 XL EB had 36K miles on it when sold and sold for more than the original sticker price. Not much to complain about there.

Mine is the same noise . my 2017 escape 2.0 was not this loud .

Same experience...went from the Escape to Maverick....same engine but Maverick is very tinny and rattly sounding.
