I feel like all the children of the 80s (my gen) are in the decision making seats now.

Let this be a reminder that just because you have nostalgia, doesn't mean it was good!

These styles sucked back then and they suck now too . Every time I see those rims, this damn bike comes to mind.

Lol, the Huffy Sigma apparently. I think it was huffys attempt to knock off the mongoose that had white Mag rims.

Lol. Dreaming of this bike got me through college. In that era, I probably would've gone for this color scheme, but there was another variation or two that might've been more... timeless.

I don't believe there is any chance that those wheels actually make it to production I guess maybe on a new Sporty trim (Lobo or whatever they call it) but even then I really doubt it. I think those wheels are just place holders on the prototype. I've seen things like that before for many other testing vehicles.

You're not really looking at this correctly. Those pictures are not a Ford press release, they're spy photos of a test vehicle. There's a reason that test vehicles usually have a lot of camouflage. And most perspective buyers are never going to see those photo's, only us small group of nerds who visit message boards and Facebook groups for our vehicles.

If you believe this is not a trial balloon endorsed by Ford and actually some guy staking out Ford's production facility in a bush with a camera for weeks on end to get these photos then no.

We got a great look at another Ford Maverick prototype, currently suspected to be the new Lobo package trademarked by Ford. This particular Maverick shows off an all-new vertically-slatted grille, flanked by the new headlights that are part of the Maverick’s mid-cycle facelift.

Once again, we see a new front bumper design, with newly integrated fog lights. We see more body-colored trim—all painted gloss black here—but the bed rails are still in unpainted black plastic on particular prototype. Our earlier look at this particular Maverick configuration captured a blue prototype, with matching blue-painted bed rails.

Not a fan of the wheels or the front grill. Glad I got my '24
