Don't forget to remove the front fender wells as well. Easy and quick. We removed the wheels to get to other areas as well but do not need to. We used lots of Fluid Film Black up in there. Easy to do and with the right tool most of the fasteners were undamaged. I think the POR 15 is going to make those mounting holes resist rust longer. We used that in areas where the plastic came in contact with the metal as well as a few other places. Just brushed it on. All hidden and covered with FF.For sure. Doing the work after you get it will preserve it. Aside from being the Maverick man, I am also a AMC Eagle guy. Eagles were one of the earliest adopters of "tough looking" black plastic. Having dealt with a few of em, I can tell ya they all rusted under the plastic. Recently I saw a 3 year old Transit van that had it's plastic damaged and removed. Every mounting hole had rust starting in on it. I know for sure at the first sign of visible rust, I am gonna yank all the plastic and take it to the body shop.
