BOV for the 2024MY 2.0l engine? Anyone?
Our EB’s do not use a blow-off valve.

Instead we have a recirculating diverter valve or bypass valve in Ford's terminology. It feeds the high pressure (that builds when we lift off the throttle) back into the exhaust manifold upstream of turbo - for the turbo to “reuse”.

Using an aftermarket BOV would throw a spanner in the works of the ECU!

Edit - an aftermarket BOV would invalidate the engine warranty if damaged occurred from the misfires & knock. Anything behind the cats or in front of the air filter won’t affect warranty - but a BOV is embedded in the engine,

Do you know anything about this?
Any experience/use?
Higher flow rate/less restrictive?

I ran a 'pod style' GreenFilter on my Focus ST to help reduce intake restriction a bit, but i know that the 2025 2.0L is completely different, so I'm not too familiar with the flat filters.
I have been running one for about 2 months now. Not sure flow rate over factory, would have to go off what the green website says.

I think you can still replace the recirc with a BOV that vents to atmosphere, to make some Ptssshhhh noises.
But, my understanding is a recirc is better overall for performance reasons.
Instead, they give you some Fake Ptsshh sounds through the speakers.

Turn on Lobo mode. ;)

Manual mode, 3rd gear, roll along at 25 mph and mash throttle and let it build boost, then lift off for the fun noises. An up slope grade will help apply a load.

Any additional intake noise that you can hear or spot?
What was your reason to change the air filter?

Website doesn't tell me a whole lot. :)
I'll do some more diggin though.

Don't really hear any extra noise, switched cause it supposed to flow better. Main reason is i can just clean it.

The ECU thinks the “blown off” air is still in the engine & will screw up the air/fuel calculations - not good.

Engine sensors are not situated to measure the ptsssshhh darn.

Thanks, I'll def keep this in mind for my replacement.
I didn't think it'd really make more sound, due to the airbox design and that this filter is living inside the airbox.

Less restrictive intake wouldn't hurt, esp with a less restrictive muffler at the other end. (I know, the cats are causing the most congestion before the muffler anyway..)

Waiting on s&b cai and cvf downpipe. Muffler was gone a week after I got the truck. Mrt race pipe.

Does anyone know if the 25' 2.0 EB is a MAF based tune or a MAP based (speed density) tune?

If it is MAF based then the release of already metered air will make a difference. If it is MAP based (like the US based Fiesta ST) then releasing already metered air makes zero difference.

Had a conversation with Gemini (AI chat bot)

The Verdict for your 2025 Lobo
Since your truck uses a MAP-based sensor system (which measures pressure in the manifold), venting that air to the atmosphere won't confuse the computer or cause "rich" stumbles like it does on some other cars.

On older cars with a MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor, VTA was a problem because the car had already "counted" that air and added fuel for it. When the air disappeared into the atmosphere, the car would stumble.
Your 2025 Lobo uses a MAP sensor, which measures pressure inside the engine.
It doesn't care if the air was vented to the atmosphere or recirculated because it only calculates fuel based on the pressure reaching the cylinders at that exact moment.

Not sure why AI thinks there is not a MAF in a Maverick? I’m looking at mine now (25 Lobo). Printed Manual recommends removing it when replacing air filter. I’ll clean mine either MAF cleaner when appropriate…

Interesting reading, so getting a new Borla pro xs 40357 and change the factory muffler won't hurt the warranty?!

@Chops
Factory muffler and pipes behind the CAT/GPF are not covered by any warranty unless a manufacturing defect can be proven.

But if you experience engine or turbo issues & Ford tries to blame it on your aftermarket exhaust - you may have to fight that.
