I haven't seen this brought up yet. It appears the new "controversial" front end may help with MPG, anyone else think it will help with the much discussed wind noise? I'm not a huge fan of the new front end either but wanted an AWD Hybrid / 4k model (my first Mav). It's " in production" now and yeah I MIGHT be trying to make myself feel better, maybe

It would take a lot of trying for me to get over the (IMO) botched front end redesign.

To attenuate noise in my '23 XL, I put insulation in the gaps between the front doors & the engine compartment. The Lariats, (but not XLs) come with foam insulation pieces from the factory in those openings. Not sure about XLTs. I also put Dynamat in the doors when I upgraded the speakers. Both were incremental, but helped a lot with lowering noise. Now, I can hear the dash rattles a lot easier!

I think it will grow on me. I do like the grill just not the big piece of smiling plastic. Not a deal breaker and surely there will be some third party mods to spruce it up some 🤷🏻

Some XLTs did, some didn't from what I can tell. My August production '24 didn't. Mine doesn't have the luxury package, so maybe that has something to do with it.

My '23 XLT didn't have the insulation, my '24 Lariat Tremor does and yes it does make a big difference.

My 23 XLT Tremor does not have it. Can we buy it from Ford and install it ourselves? Hmm. I should look into that. I have weather stripping in the gaps between the cab and the rear fenders. Keeps the crap off the inside of the back doors and cab. It's been working great for over a year now. 😬

You should be able to order it, if you or your parts people can figure out what the part numbers are. It's some sort of foam material, though. I just bought some HVAC lineset foam insulation and installed it myself. Probably much cheaper than the parts from Ford. So far, it's staying in place and noticeably attenuated the engine & wind noise coming from the engine compartment into the cab. That and the Dynamat I installed in the front door panels made a big difference. And now the doors don't sound like hollow tin cans when you shut them.

Downside is, it made the f-n dash rattles much easier to hear now. :(

That's a good idea. I believe I have some of that insulation laying around somewhere. Any pics you might have would be helpful in planning out the job. Fortunately, I don't have any dash rattles. My radio is usually cranking, so I doubt I'd hear them anyway . 😬

Remember, your Lariat also has the sound insulating windshield helping to insulate the noise.

My new XLT sounds horrible on the highway, and I haven't even driven on the interstate yet. So tips to DIY would be great. I may have to get help.

Maybe I'm weird, but I really dig the new front end.

Old style still looks good - no problems there. But the daggers at the edges of the 25+ lights give them a cool, angular look.
