Both hybrid coolant caps appear to be identical.
Looking at the caps it certainly looks like there is a pressure relief spring inside same as the old ones.
As you unscrew the cap it will allow excess pressure to vent around the sides.
Just a guess. 🤷‍♂️

Coolant on the ground is pretty easy to spot.

Unexplained coolant loss AND foamy oil is definitely a reason for a prompt service inspection.
Except a lot of leaks would be helpfully caught by the felt-like under-panel instead of the pavement.

Was inspired to check my 2024 hybrid just now. Coolant is a bit low, only to where I have mild concern and will be leveling off and checking more regularly. Oil cap had just a bit of foam, not nearly so much as @HeyBales. Oil and dipstick look a-ok.

Now I feel good about extending my drives during cold weather. Mostly it's been a vanity thing, that I want to achieve better mpg -otherwise with morning temps in mid-teens °F and a 3-mi commute, fuel economy has taken it in the chops. In the back of my mind burning off condensation was certainly a thought as well.

I try to go long enough for a half-mile full electric once the engine block is up to temp. Probably a good metric I suppose. Also I take it at freeway speeds for a 12-mile round trip weekly. This morning I barely had time for the minimum commute, so perhaps the malted oil cap is just from that.

edit: oil & dipstick observation

Okay. I checked my cap and there's a little bit of white emulsion on it. Checked the oil (changed in November) and it looks great. Coolant looks great. So I'm going to keep my eye on it as I've done a lot of short trips this winter. Sorry it took so long , I was in the middle of working on my motorcycle and one of my canoes.

There is no ‘service’ for a blown head gasket.

It will get worse fast now. Continued use will put extreme wear on all the internal engine components.
No.
Stop the false information.
You don't even have one.

Normal and Harmless for this engine.

Shows up in cold / cooler climates with short trips.

I need to start popping the oil fill cap off during fillups when I check the oil dipstick.
Or in this case, even at the 20k inspection that occurred about 300 miles before the oil/filter change.
At which time I had to refill the engine coolant tank from mid-level. Which was mid-level again by the oil/filter change. Hmmm.

Never had anything show up on the dipstick.
Nothing in the old oil showed a thing.
Went thru last years winter and the oil change didn't have this in Apr.
But service writer said - nah, normal condensation, he's seen it on his F250.
Really?

Guess I'll have to wait until coolant drops more, and this shows up again - to get their attention.
I've never had this in a vehicle, and many oil/filter changes ended up being the same time of year for the same potential.

Pretty much everyone's (hybrid) does this in colder times with short trips.

Just 99% of people never look.

No worries.

Yeah, he's a little needy. And, he likes car rides. Been a long winter for both of us. But, you know those guys that complain about mice. My complaint is that sometimes I have half a mouse.

So it lets antifreeze mix with engine oil?
Really ?
Does the hybrid ICE in winter run so cold the oil and compression rings don’t reach a proper warm engine temp so they can swell up and seal up ?

Someone with 70, 80, or 90,000 miles on their hybrid needs to look under that cap and tell me it’s normal.

Common issue. Water will condense at the coldest point, which would be the oil cap. If you see the same on the dipstick or during an oil drain/change, THEN you have problems.
At 14,200 miles my oil cap does NOT have any signs of water or antifreeze. Also has never shown any signs of condensation.
I look because I’m an oil sniffer, always looking for signs of leaks.

Never in my life has there been any reason for the milkshake in any car I ever owned other than a blown head gasket.

I bought a Twenty two year old Straight Six F-150 with a milkshake engine for $500.
Replaced the engine myself. It cost me $600 for a crate engine, Long time ago.

After all repairs and a nice rattle can paint job it drove and looked ok.
Automatic tranny, a half ton basic truck with A/C
I was in it for $1400.
Drove it one year and sold it for, $1,400
