The Maverick being a complex item..ie made up of many parts, is going to follow the bathtub curve. So higher probability of a failure early in its lifespan...which is why you have a bumper to bumper warranty...then failures decrease with maybe a few random failures and then later in its lifespan failures will increase as parts wear out. This is with all complex items so if you understand this you should not be so alarmed with an early failure. I wouldn't be so concerned even though it sucks. If it continues to happen after repair, then you want to be concerned.

40 yrs dealing with intermittent electrical problems on submarines and power plants. It’s called infant mortality. New equipment… if it makes it a month or two it should be dependable. Temperature changes, moisture, vibration, even rodent urine. Love my truck 1 yr, 18k miles now. Eco boost. 30 mpg ave.

Hi. Mine showed me brake problem at the dash, then later didn't started, I jumped it with my own lil costco booster, it sent a message to run it a longer distance with the AC off, after one hour of driving I hit the postal office, exit the place and it started like new again, next day it failed to start again, called ford, they checked and changed my battery, that was yesterday and so far so good.

Hope they fix yours, btw mine disable the auto stop-start by itself to safe battery prior to let me stranded.

My 23 lariat has been good so far with only the recalls and one oil change. I only have about 9K on it with a mixture of long distance and mostly local miles. It is outside and I do use a windshield heat screen but so far paint is holding up. (Although when it was brand new I got caught in a brief but damaging sand storm just west of Barstow CA.)

Hi there! If you need any additional assistance, please feel free to send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info.
Lol Don't listen to this Ford account. It's just for show like they care.
They will just tell you to let the dealer handle it.

Visited dealership today. Service department covered up, busy, busy etc. A tense but fairly short conversation moved our maverick out of the parking lot into the shop. Bad starter, part will be here Monday.?.? Don't understand how but things are not how they used to be! Computers and little wires every where sure do make things complex! Hopefully back on the road Monday!

That is infuriating. Last bad starter was in my wife's CRV in the eveing... I was travelling ... She had it towed to our trusted shop.. they put a new starter in it the next morning and she had the car back by noon... probably 18 hours total

But you buy a 35K from a dealer and they park you out back for 3 days.... Infuriating... I feel your pain.

we LOVE the maverick but Breaking down like this is unacceptable
intend to visit the dealership tomorrow expecting to see it still on the back lot waiting for Devine intervention
I hope they figure it out for you. Other than recalls and left and right cv joint replacement I still love my hybrid. Oh and this came to mind when you said Devine intervention.

Domino's said it best, "you can make a pizza so cheap, no one wants to buy it".

Same deal goes for these. Although homeboy bought a Lariat, not a cheap vehicle at all.
and a tundra cost 60k and those engines are blowing up soo

A lot of dealers aren't even taking Tundras in on trade due to how widespread those engines issues are. They don't want to deal with the hassle of having to repair and recall those Toyotas. The tundra has had, I want to say, about 12 recalls since 2022, and shows no signs of stopping.

The engines, and plenty of other issues as well. Not to mention lots of complaints about the cheapened interiors with lots of plastic parts that are ill-fitted and rattling.

Yeah, lots of complaints here about the Maverick having "cheap" interior materials, yet you find the same thing on Toyota trucks that cost $40k-$80k!!!

My $30K 2022 Maverick XLT has had no interior rattles, and in fact the interior is holding up pretty well.

How does a bad starter leave the truck completely dead with no power to the dash etc? I cannot understand what failure mode of a starter would do this.

It also implies that if you are driving down the freeway and your starter fails like this, you are going to be coasting and praying all the way to the shoulder.

It doesn't make sense - starters aren't lynch pins in a vehicle. They do fail of course, but not like this - at least not in any vehicle I have ever owned or changed a starter in, and I have changed more than my fair share of starters.

Correct, in fact, it is usually the solenoid that goes out first in a starter, not the actual starter.

Pretty much, for it's price, the maverick seems to punch well above it's price point in terms of quality/reliability. I've seen a lot of people who paid 2-3 times more than we did, with more issues than us as well.
