Ford sells a standard cab Ranger outside the United States. They don't sell it domestically...I suspect because sales of prior Ranger models didn't justify offering that configuration here.

In the early 2000s I bought a standard cab Chevy S10 pickup. I loved the truck but hated the fact that it didn't have any space behind the front seat to keep stuff secure and dry. If I had someone in the passenger seat, there wasn't even space for a gym bag in the cab. I'd previously owned Toyota and Nissan trucks, both with "king cab" configurations. Besides the aforementioned extra storage space that configuration provided, it also allowed for the front seats to recline. Try taking a road trip in a vehicle with non-reclining seats. Not fun. Even though I enjoyed many aspects of the truck, I ended up unloading the S10 because I really hated the limitations of the single-cab design.

I'd have no interest in a standard cab Maverick.
The same situation when my Dad bought a 1993 Ranger STX 4x4 5MT regular cab short bed (in red with STX graphics as pictured below) as a cheap daily work beater ten years ago after his 1985 Nissan King Cab he had since new bit the dust. Whenever I ride with him in the Ranger I had his lunch cooler and work gear on my lap because nowhere to put them. He bought one of those lockable bed storage for his tools but still they just keep getting wet from the rain when opening it. He got tired of the lack of space and comfort and gave it to my uncle after five years. Still it was a sweet truck that got us through a few winters.

As much as there is an interest in a two-seater regular cab Maverick, it would sell in tens of dozens.

Fleet ones are just about the only F150 standard cabs being sold here.
My dad pointed out every house on his street has a pickup in front of it. Only 2 were single cab and both were fleet trucks brought home from someone's work.
On my street every house has a pickup in front of it or in the driveway, but none of them are single cab pickups.
If more regular cab f150's are not sold soon I would not be surprised to see them dropped. Most of the other models and brands have dropped the single cab.
I have a 2019 F150 single cab XLT with a Coyote and a 8' bed. Hauls a lot of stuff and hauls ass!

How times have changed. Used to be that standard short bed pickups and 2-door hardtop cars was the way to go. Now it is all about 4-door everything.

Totally agree with DavidS. The target market for this vehicle are outdoorsy small families that were considering a subaru outback or small SUV.

We are literally the target market, my wife has an AWD VW alltrack, i have an old transit connect cargo van. We used to take the VW skiing, and we'd throw bikes in the back of the two seater van. It was perfect when we were a family of two but now we have a kiddo and need seating for 4 and room for our recreational kit. We live in the city and don't want a big truck.

They're gonna sell 100,000's of these.
Yea sell 100,000 and actually only able to produce 1,000

Just a litttle back window angle (Honda Ridgeline like) to create a bit more front seat recline and look.

It's not going to happen. Certainly not anytime soon. Ford's interest in making the Maverick was to reclaim market share of sedan drivers. They want people (families) to switch to small trucks. While I'm sure a lot of people would like a two door light truck, it wouldn't gain Ford anything. Those people care already buying something.
You're absolutely correct. Very few, if any, two-door trucks are being produced. Manufacturers recognized customer demand for family capable 4 door trucks. No company is going to invest in a diminishing field.
