This price increase ONLY applies to orders received by Ford after Dec 30, 2021. So everyone who currently has a confirmed order is safe from any price increase, unless of course you have a shady salesman who tries some underhanded 🐂:poop:! :cautious:🤣🤣
EFFECTIVE DATE
Dealer Invoice changes will be effective December 27: 2021.

This is to be expected but surprised its applying to 2022 model year vehicles at all. I am guessing nearly all of the 2022 model year vehicle production are already sold.

Remember the plant its produced(Hermosillo Ford plant) has only a capacity of 300k vehicles per year which is 25k a month at full capacity without any delays or shortages. This capacity is also shared with the bronco sport. At 50% going to maverick that is 12.5k vehicles a month max. In almost exactly 10 months the 2023 model production begins(Oct 24 2022). That means we can expect at most 125,000 mavericks being built from now until the new model year. Ford has well over 200,000 maverick orders already and has only built 20-25k so far.

I really really doubt anyone ordering this late into December will even receive a 2022 model maverick ecoboost or not. The production capacity vs number of orders does not work out.

For the 2023 maverick I would bet money we see the starting price at $22,995 or higher.

I'm still waiting for my window sticker at which point the dealership should have the invoice and be able to give me the promised X-plan price

[ADMIN UPDATE] - FORD BULLETIN TO DEALERS:

2022-maverick-price-increase.png
Nice that I saved $190 on my Maverick Hybrid XLT.

$80 on XLT
$110 on Co-Pilot360

I wonder if the above increases are because Ford is now paying up to double to get chips delivered faster (which had just happened). That could explain the 20% increase in price for the Co-Pilot360 which now will cost $650 MSRP.

My completely uninformed opinion is that it is reflective of an increase in cost. Ford has been clear that this is intended to be affordable and for regular people in the same vein as the Model T. It's likely going to cover cost increases due to teh supply chain/inflation and possibly reduce the volume of upper trim, high optioned orders that take longer to produce.

If I ordered mine today it would be $545 more. That wouldn't be enough for me not to order it, but I might rethink that moonroof.

I keep seeing this "200,000 orders" number in different posts. But plenty of other folks say that is the number of reservations, not the number of orders, and that orders are closer to 100,000.

@flyjum, do you have a real source for that 200,000 order number that might clear this up?

Well my plans for the Lariat Lux have not changed but the cost did. That is what I get for procrastinating.

I noticed they said will not re-invoice. That's good.

I also saw in a Facebook group that a dealer agrees with cars being pushed to MY23. If that is the case, will those that already ordered have to pay the inevitable price increases.
According to Tim on here, it is unlikely that 2022 model orders will turn into 2023 trucks. Ford is giving themselves time to build out the 2022 orders until 2023 reservations.
