2. Not a fan of the new dash designs that many manufacturers are going with. We don't need a quarter of the instrument cluster showing engine temp and fuel.
lol... completely agree. The new meter is awful, IMO.

I think they did a real good job on the 6.5" screen and the analog gauges on the 22-24 Lariats and FX4s (maybe XLT Lux too?). The XL and XLT screens looked decently laid out too.

Here's just one example from another manufacturer, except this might be even worse...

My thoughts exactly. I was really feeling the Green but with the primary Blue interior I don’t see how they could work together. I thought that the BAP would help but after seeing a none BAP with the White I think the colors all work well. Plus the chrome with the White makes it look elegant I think. I’ve had a couple white vehicles and other than them showing the dirt more I really liked them.
I tend to agree with you mostly on the color, but I do tend to think that you rarely see the inside and outside colors together. Also, I believe most people will agree that a white exterior tends to show the dirt less. If you happen to live in an area that gets particularly dark or contrasting "dirt" maybe the white does show it more.

True, I guess it just comes down to personal preference and what each individual is willing to accept.

The screen comments had me laughing at myself. After my career in military aviation, I did a second career as a software designer. I did a ton of GUI applications. In my first ten years, I would design some really cool GUI that showed a gazillion different things, had animations, popup menus, secret powerful capabilitites.

And again and again my users would tell me, "We just want simple and obvious". It's a hurdle every new GUI guy does. You want to show all the cool stuff you can do. It takes years to mature into realizing that simpler really is better.

I wonder when we'll start seeing all the auto journalist reviews? You gotta think they're all chafing at the bit to drive the 2025 AWD hybrid. They'll all drop at once. I bet journalists are driving them now, and Ford has a review embargo date for fairness.

Sometimes Ford will do a small reveal event for them too. A week someplace nice, with a little fleet of all the trims available. OEMs like these events, because they get to brainwash the attendees with all kinds of presentations about new tech, etc. But the reviews after are high-content.

I went with white too. I like the red and the green, but in the end I tend to get tired of most colors after a year or two. White is the only color I don't seem to get tired of.

Not sure what the attraction for Space White is. Next to an Oxford White truck, the SW looks dirty doesn't it?

Yeah I'm not impressed with the space white .I thought it would be white metallic. Oxford white was my second choice but I ended up going with azure grey...I think it goes best with the interior.

Space White is a light gray. It's actually a very nice color. My current 22 is Oxford white and that's just a classic color. For my 25 I went with Ruby Red. Love a nice red!

I think the "thud" you mentioned when you close the door is one of Ford's hallmarks. A friend of mine pointed out years ago that Fords just sound solid when you close the doors. Not all vehicles do. Some sound and feel much cheaper or lighter.

I think I saw the screen I like the most on my '22 Maverick on your review. It shows 4 numbers: (top left) Trip's current mpg, (top right) Miles driven, (bottom right) Miles to empty, and (bottom left) the mpg you're getting right this second and whether you're in electric mode or not.

Not sure why Ford hasn't made the driving mode permanently changeable (ie so it'll stay on slippery mode if you set it there). Can that be done with Forscan?

I read yes, you have to make the modes 0 0 0 you don’t want

the one left active will be default upon start

Ie

wet 0
Eco 0
Dry 0
Gas guzzle 1

I made these up bc I don’t know the modes. But yeah saw a post on it
By doing this you can’t switch modes bc disabled technically

now if you remove standard, and leave the others on, maybe it just starts in order of next one replace it.

We have Rapid Red on our escape and it is a fantastic color. Unfortunately I couldn't consider it since I need a bit of variety in my life

I wonder who will make the first 4k towing video with the hybrid??

For all you Lariat haters... I test drove the XLT and started adding the options I wanted. By the time I was done it was just a few hundred short of the Lariat. I pulled the trigger on the Lariat and I'm glad I did! There are a bunch of "Easter eggs" that I didn't know I needed and now I use daily. Don't end up regretting your decision a year from now by not upgrading.
