I have no sympathy for Ford.
They made the decision to cheap out on the infotainment system. Now after almost a 170 million dollar fine. With refreshed 2025 models arriving at dealers lots. Thousands of unsold 24 Maverick's sitting in storage lots on an indefinite sales hold until a fix can be found. Adding to the expense. All of the Mavericks that are being recalled that are currently sold. Maybe next time they'll say no to the Bean counter who told them it was more economical to do it the cheap way.
That's a nice thought but don't hold your breath.
If there's one thing I've learned in 45 years it's that most companies will happily shift any and all responsibility onto the customer whenever possible, especially after the warranty. There are exceptions but for the most part big business isn't your friend and won't do you any favors.

Hey everyone, new here and not sure if this has been asked before. Bought a new 2024 XLT on friday but dealership said I had to wait until the recall issue regarding the backup cam freezing got fixed. They had no timeline on how long it would take. Saw the recall occured in September. Anybody else experience this? Any idea how long it'll be until I get my new truck? THANKS
Does this affect the 2023 models?

I have had zero issues with my '24 backup camera, freezing et.al. I think it will be a cold day in hell before I take it in for a possible fix.

As in paid for or financed?
Were you told you wouldn't be able to take the Maverick home before you signed any paperwork?
Did they let you drive it?
Yeah wondering the same. I could see accepting a small deposit to reserve one sitting there, but really scary if they went deeper into signing paperwork. And at what point in the process did they bring up the recall?

Not as long as they have their fiduciary responsibility to their share holders.
As a shareholder, I hate that Ford is killing the stock price by not doing things right the first time. The little bit they saved on the initial decision was nothing compared to the fallout from the recall. It looks to me like they abdicated their fiduciary responsibility.

Correct they took a small deposit after we negotiated on a final price. Paying full in cash once gets fixed. Was told "if a couple months go bye and you want to go in a different direction" then I'd be able to get my deposit back. Using a rental at the moment and hoping it isn't long or else I think I'm going to have to shop around for another vehicle.

If the 25% tariff actually happens the ones on the lots would be a good deal and sales will be tough on any imported after that.

You would think they have a team of engineers working on it 24/7 ? But perhaps they just farmed out the work to overseas software companies ? They need to step up their game.

I received the recall notice for my 24 XL but have yet to experience any camera freezes. I was at the dealer this week and saw a half dozen 24 XLTs sitting on the lot that obviously can't be sold.

I'm in the same church as you. You're preaching to the choir.
If Ford has to please the stockholders Ford doing a 💩 job of it now.

You don't think all the negative publicity on this issue plus the deep sleep battery issue on Ford hybrids is costing us shareholders money?
