I have a 2022 XLT hybrid, ordered a 2025 AWD hybrid. I’m rethinking getting the 2025 and looking at 2024 XLT ecoboost with fx4.
The cost for the 2025 hybrid AWD is about 10k more than my 2022
I want AWD , for getting up to the mountain and also at slippery boat ramps. Thinking fx4 would handle those needs.
And thinking dealers will need to move all the 2024 off there lots when the 2025 come in, so may be able to negotiate a good deal.
Would appreciate thoughts.

AWD and 4k tow package should cover those needs. The FX4 would have a different suspension, front tow hooks, blacked out aluminum rims, All terrain tires (which is an added advantage), larger display screen, off road display, two different modes (mud & ruts, sand), hill descent, FX4 emblem vs AWD badge, skid plate.

The big issues are how long do you normally or plan on keeping the vehicle? How many miles you drive annually? The majority of you driving is highway or city driving? Also if you are planning on getting a 2.0 ecoboost on the 2025, which you already posted you were not.

No one can predict the future but looking at past circumstances, a newer model year if everything else is equal brings more resale value or is with more money. Unless it's over ten years old.

How many miles you drive annually also can change the values or resale value. At this time depending on what type of driving hwy vs city can determine the cost of ownership or fill ups while you own it. If someone drivers 50,000 miles a year vs 5000 miles the difference of 3 mpg hwy is not a crucial decision on the low mileage.

For me it was a no brainier. First I was replacing a 16 year old vehicle. The one before I had 12 years before replacing it. Then I usually drive about 5000 miles a year and 95 to 90 percent of it is 2 lane highway 50 to 55mph. Those contributing factors made my decision rather easy. Unfortunately I like the ride, manueverability, performance and mileage so much I probably will be over 8000 miles this year. Almost double it's been a true joy driving the Maverick. Ultimately it's your decision but you need to look at contributing factors that will personalize your decision.

Best of luck with your decision. To be frank I think you will be pleased with either combination you decide on.

Thank you for your response. Like you I only drive about 5k a year. I like the idea of tow hooks, crazy that not all the trucks have them.
The ramps I use are salt water so at low tide they get very slippery. Another reason to have fx4 package, hooks

Just with the features listed below especially the Locking Rear Differential.
I'd say the FX4 is worth it.

Plus, you live in Washington State. With many areas to explore where a more robust AWD drive would come in handy.

I had a 24 built with the tow package and AWD. I was going to go hybrid, but I preferred to have AWD and the option to tow a decent amount of weight. I just did the math and figured it would take me a long time to spend the extra money the hybrid would cost in gas. I don't do a lot of city driving. I will say, one thing I really liked about having a hybrid was my regenerative breaking that I never had to replace anything on. So that may eat up that gas money now that I think of it. Anyway, the Eco Boost is running very smooth and I love it so far.

FWIW,
I recently went from a 24 Lariat Hybrid (very bad rattler & sleeper) to a 24 XLT (LUX) with FX4 & 4K Tow, 360.
My XLT does not rattle (yet), hope it does not. To me the ride/driving is totally different. The AWD rear suspension as well as the FX4 shocks are from the FWD Hybrid. And there is a different feel in the 191 vs 250 HP. Fuel mileage is a difference for some, but does not matter to me. Be aware that (if it matters) the FX4 trades ECO & SPORT drive modes for MUD/RUTS & SAND. From what I read on this forum, that can be “fixed” with Forscan.
i do miss a couple of the Lariat features, but no rattles, driving & ride differences and XLT seat comfort far out weigh what I miss.
Be aware with the current rear camera recall dealers cannot demo or sell any XL or XLTs until “fixed”. Anyone’s guess what incentives will be on left over 24s after recall is completed. No fix announced as yet.

I believe their is a stop hold on selling all XL and XLT's till the fix for the recall for the freezing of the rear view camera comes in. Lasts I hear, will be available sometime in the 1st quarter. All dealers can sell are the 24 Lariats since they have Sync3.

Has anyone gotten a 2024 under msrp? I’m assuming with the 2025 coming to,dealers soon, and the 2024 they have sitting on lots due to camera hold, there may be deals.

I have the 22 AWD FX4 LUX 4KTOW CO-PILOT 360 all the Packages plus the sliding rear window and full-size spare, at the time I paid 34k out the door, I didn't need any of these options but figured why not the price was very reasonable what am I going to get for 34k a small Toyota or Honda. I will not tow or go off road I go to the supermarket and dog park I drive 5k a year or less am getting 18/20 mpg local and up to 30/35 highway I fill up every 2/3 weeks @ 35/40 bucks. I like the ride of the vehicle, its firm you feel the road, it has plenty of power 250hp. It has cost me about $240 in 2.5 years to maintain for 3 dealer oil changes and 2 tire rotation's, it took 9 months to get and well worth the wait, I've only had very minor problems with it like radio issues and washer fluid light and doors locking with engine running and me outside the vehicle which they tell me is my fault, all have been corrected for the most part. I have 13500 miles and will likely sell it in May of 25 when my warranty is up and get a Lobo only because it's COOL and has everything in it, just wish it had a shifter instead of that dial hate it.

5k mile a year,. Why bother with hybrid?
OP has lived and learned. I'm pushing 15k annually in a metro area of 4 million people...and I still want an FX4. But as you can see, I'm a Hybrid use case.
