I added 4k to the order as well, so hopefully my Carbonized Gray Lariat with moon roof and BAP will eventually happen.
any lariat ecoboost order is likely to get scheduled very quickly.

I have enjoyed all 32k miles on my '22 and haven't once thought it would be worth it to have a lot less truck in exchange for better mpg. I run about 27.2 mpg 9 months of the year, and then the winter gas blend costs me about 1.5 to 2 mpg. I always use 91 octane (there's no 93 in my area).

Yes I agree. Still better than the hybrid FWD which I was referring to. Than again I guess it depends on personal preference. I do like your thinking.
You can't get the Black Appearance package with FX4 (I personally prefer BAP before I would get FX4)

I didn't know that because when I was deciding on my order I couldn't justify over 1600 for black paint. On the other hand everything on the FX4 package are useful and needed and not just the suspension and shocks. I was looking for cloth seats so XLT and the FX4 gave the 6.5 screen, hill descent, All terrain tires and skid plate along with the shocks and suspension. I then opted for p235 All terrain tires which came with different wheels. I think it boils down to ones preferences. Besides I like the color of the interior.

You also gave up a lot (mostly gas) by switching.

If you drive mostly over 55 MPH the switch won't hurt too much.

If you are mostly slow speed / in town, it's going to hurt a lot more.

🤷🏻‍♂️
Depending on a couple of conditions I can maintain 40(+/-) MPG at freeway speeds across a 1 hour trip I make on a regular basis. My brother's EB sits at about 27 MPG.

I've considered it and I drive about 80% interstate and only 20% stop and go. We live 30 miles from a big city and 2 miles off the interstate. I'm also a lead foot and run 80-85 most of the time. Most trips I average 30-31 in my hybrid. I do like the smooth quiet take offs from traffic lights, but the power of the Eco will make me forget it quickly.
🤨

Those speeds are killing your fuel economy. Who knows what an EB is going to do if you can kill a hybrid like that.

I presume you know, but in case not, a good solution for off-road and black interior is actually an XLT Tremor. I think it is a lot better value than the Black Appearance Package, but both of them have the same interior, except for the 'TREMOR' orange stitching on the seats.

Unfortunately you take a hit from 4k tow to maximum 2000lbs. You also take a hit on cargo or approximately 200lbs less payload. You do get a little better ride because of the different suspension and one inch lift but from what I've read you lose handling because it has more body roll. Trust me I like the thought or use of lockers but I also didn't want to take a hit of 5 mpg less hwy mileage when 99% of my travel is 2 lane hwy. Yeah I like the Tremor it's just not what I'm looking for in a truck.

that's exactly what I figured you'd say. it's also why fx4 + 4k tow is still a very popular option, and tremor isn't hardly selling.

There's actually not any "black paint" to the BAP

You get the following items:
Ford Maverick Switched order from Hybrid to Eco BAP

on Lariat the active x seats are in black instead of the blue & brown.
To each his own

Okay so how did they get the blue in the front and back Ford emblem, the grille and the mirrors black? You've peaked my curiosity.

It's all molded plastic. Not painted.

Odd how one year you pay extra for body colored mirrors (which I prefer) and another year you pay extra for black mirrors.

Me too. I am not a huge fan of the wheels on either package, but BAP is worth it too me just for the black headlights and taillights. The black pleather is an extra bonus on Lariat as I'm not a fan of the butterscotch and blue interior.

Everything I've ever read says the hybrid and Eco are about even at interstate speeds, especially 70+. The hybrid destroys the Eco in stop and go mileage and lower 2 lane highway speeds though. On the few in town drives I've made I have averaged close to 40MPG in my hybrid.

Try putting 89 octane in it for a few tanks. It made a noticeable difference in my truck.
Thanks. I have been using 91 octane to this point to get a baseline on mileage and performance and was going to use 89 octane on the next fill up for comparison. Right now it fells like a freaking race car but I was driving a ‘94 Ford Ranger for 29 years before the Mav so not surprising. But I loved that Ranger and still miss it.

My brother and I make the same drive, the EB is nowhere near my hybrid in economy.

Now, maybe at 78+ MPH that changes and the hybrid's efficiency falls off, while the EB doesn't fall off as much. We don't have any way of testing that ourselves as anything above 75 is ticket territory.

Let me know the difference. I had a 2002 Ranger Tremor (Vulcan V6) and you are right this engine is amazing but I don't think it's going to last as many miles as the "Iron God" engine.
