I've had mine almost 3 weeks and 2500 miles on it. First fill up was 27.5 and has progressively gotten better. Today's fill up was hand calculated at 31.9. I drive 20/80 city/highway.

I traded a Subaru Outback XT with similar specs that got 19-21 for my daily driving routines. My first tank with the Mav was 23.5 measured and the guess-o-meter for the second tank is now reading 26.4. Needless to say I'm happy with what I'm seeing.

2023 Ecoboast Lariat @ 12,000 miles got to 30mpg average from Sept 2023-Sept 2024.
It will drop to something like 25mpg at the end of winter.
I do about 70% highway miles

Hahaha kidding I am :’P

@ 4,300 miles now,
Average from 2.1 miles new to now is 26 mpg
Over the last three tanks of NON ethanol 93
I’m just not able to hold 28.
I’m 27.6 mpg in my Appalachian Mountains.
No interstate,
No city,
That’s 27.6 mpg without driving like grandma.
Everybody boogies along at a pretty good clip up here.
Rolling hills and steep climbs up to my cabin on gravel roads that stop some lesser 2WD and many FWD vehicles when things are dry and loose.
I did a 31 mpg average on a 200 miles trip once, with equal amounts of interstate and country highways and 20 miles in city traffic
thrown in.

Notice where my tach sits at 67 mph.
1700 rpm, Outstanding !
I Lurve my Ecoboost.

I did fill up with midgrade (89 octane) probably 3 times in the one year. Usually get the gas when the tank has 1/4 left.
That does help the mpg, how much is hard to say, I tend to do it when on a road trip to increase the range, I think it pushes the range up about 40 miles on a tank.

When I go on a road trip the gas is 30 cents less per gallon. It's hard to resist putting higher-octane gas in. This is a turbocharged motor and though 87 octane is the minimum (what comes out of the gas station tank could be less) and the owner’s manual does recommend up to 90 or 91 octane.

Since I see some gain in mpg, I expect the engine runs more efficiently on it. More efficiency means more longevity to me.

It's like washing the vehicle once in while.

lol....I was ready to call BS, but I see the OP is already banned....🤣

No EB Maverick is going to yield 42 mpg (hand calculated) over 200 miles unless you are going downhill with a tailwind.... 🙄

I don't doubt the FWD are more efficient, but not consistently by 10+ mpg.
My Focus ST with 2.0L EB and 6 MT did ~33-34 MPG 'calculated' at its best on long distant trips (OFF boost).
A much lighter car, with much better aero.

I don't know why this thread was brought back to top. lol

But, my calculated numbers are in my signature/Fuelly link.
Low 20s, to upper 20s are typical depending on amount of city vs highway.

I'll be impressed when i can average 30+ for a full tank, but I don't think its going to happen often.
