The updates aren't individual patches, just updating to whatever latest build for the affected modules Ford has on their servers.
So the upcoming software update that pertains to the 12V will be installed in place of the older software updates that pertained to the same thing, rather than being installed alongside it?

The software in the Body Control Module is 1 chunk of software.

The latest contains the prior updates for whatever they may have updated. For many different potential things - like the tail light issue is in the BCM.
May have updated things that aren't even issues - just improvements or changes.
Some may require another module to be updated so they talk nicely and completely with each other.
That's the kicker - if a tech doesn't see that warning that another module needs to be updated also.

This isn't like Windows where a couple individual files could be updated by themselves, and then next update another few are done.

Can we just turn off the telemetry to save the battery?
Reread this thread and a few of the Similar threads shown below this one.
You'll discover it's NOT just about battery usage - mainly charging and battery type.
You won't "save" the battery with no TCU - may extend by helping.

TCU's have been used on vehicles without a problem with battery drain (unless issues) since what - early 2000's.

I have a weird question, but if I get a ton of software recalls performed at once, will that freak the truck out? I've only had 2 software updates done this far for the shudder and sensitive brakes. Will overwhelming it with like 8 software updates in a single session cause any issues?
No. I had 5 done at once in August. All good so far.

Some 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may experience an intermittent 12V battery drain condition when the ignition is turned off. If the 12V battery drains, perform a 12V power reset to the vehicle by disconnecting the 12V battery negative cable for 5 minutes. Fully charge the 12V battery and use the Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 tester to determine if replacement is needed. If replacement is needed, fully charge the new battery and perform a battery monitor sensor (BMS) reset. Engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected in the first quarter of 2025. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

My truck is out of warranty Jan 2025, I hope it's a free program and I don't have to pay...
So, what are the symptoms of the battery wearing out. On mine it will click and hum without any inputs. It’s kinda weird, it wasn’t running for a day and as I am working in the garage and it starts clicking and whirring.

Mine 2 year old one (well Fab. Date 7/22) is still getting me by.

Always 12.4v when I park it after a long drive. Always 11.8v to 11.9v the next morning.

Weird. But not getting worse.
I noticed it in the Fall of 2022.
I reported it then with like 5000 miles.
Ford told me "no free battery as long as it starts". Well so far it has never not started.
🤷🏻‍♂️

PS I used a NOCO GENIUS 5 on it a few times. Made zero observable difference.

Now I think we got sold 11.8 v batteries.
Seems like you have to wait 45-60 minutes after turning off before checking voltage after driving.
ETA: Did you leave your genius 5 on it until it finished it's optimization or did you take it off after it just finished it's charge cycle. I will sometimes leave mine on for four or more days with truck locked. Then the maintenance mode comes on after the thing takes 0.1 volts off battery and tops it off it appears that lets the bms slowly up its charge to target. In any case after two or more days after no driving I still see 12.4 volts the next am. 12.1-12.2 after five days sitting. It appears to need several days on maintenance mode to optimize. I do double lock my trucks to reduce the battery drain a little bit. So I don't get the clicking, etc when I approach truck in garage.

The tech that did three updates in my drive downloaded each update from Ford's server and applied them separately. He watched his laptop and said during the third recall that some of the modules were updated by all three. But it did not matter which order the updates were run because each module should have received the most current update. What matters is if the 12 volt has enough voltage to keep everything turned on, which is why he put his power supply on the truck.

this is normal behavior. Mine does the same and so did the ‘23 I had before it.

At the beginning of October when I had my free oil change - I told my local service department everytime I drive the truck, 5 mins after I get a notification
Ford Maverick FINALLY!! An upcoming 12v battery fix for hybrids!!! Screenshot_20240808_194652_Spotify

They replaced my 12v battery.
Again, beginning of October 2024 my 12v was replaced

Ohh this is going to be fun Monday.

I have been fighting with the dealer over declined warranty work on several items. Ford's post service survey is what got me attention and the ability to get it back and fixed.

I go back Monday and they have promised to fix everything and are giving me a loaner, however I already replaced the Battery with an AGM so they cannot correct this.

FYI "under glow", I have 3 LED strips. On on the hood others have done here above the grill, then 1 on each side of the vehicle. The running lights have a fuse tapped that is is off via the ignition, the turn signals are connected to the turn signals with a hardness, and the courtesy / puddle are run from the back and tied into the bed lighting.

The ONLY lights that will stay on with the truck off, are tied to the bed light and in bed LED, and is managed by the truck, so I can't just forget and leave them on and kill the battery.

Every issue I was declined on was like the technician looked for the fastest way to deny warranty on each item.

This is for sure getting brought up on Monday.

Heard the new one was on AWD, but fwd kept same one ?

It be a shame if they let it ride....

Hey 25s though new parts = new problems. Maybe not as much. We will see soon.
From an article on fordauthority.

“According to Dawn McKenzie, Ford Trucks communications manager, the 2025 Ford Maverick features the latest Ford hybrid transmission – the HF55. The HF55 gearbox has a higher torque capacity than the HF45, which was previously used in the 2022-2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid, as well as the Ford Escape Hybrid. As Ford Authority previously reported, the latest master contract agreement between Ford and the United Auto Workers (UAW) union reveals that production of the HF45 is slated to end at some point in the future, meaning that it will presumably be replaced by the HF55 altogether.”

My 2nd battery started to Deep Sleep at 6 months old, same as the first battery. I bought an AGM battery off Amazon for $150 delivered, reset the BMS, fingers crossed 🤞

Cold weather will bring increasing battery issues. That’s my experience with my 23 Hybrid. It’s got to be run on open roads to charge the 12 volt.
