12v Battery Replaced Today

24 Lariat Hybrid owned ~5mos.

Was having various problems: dome lights not coming on when doors opened, pass side keyless lock/unlock not working, Sync display not firing up when door opened.

Dealer diagnosed it as a failing 12v battery and replaced it under warranty.

The truck didn’t just keel over, it was shutting things off as the battery degraded. The drivers side keyless lock/unlock kept working.

There's an upcoming recall on the battery charging/BMS issues. Should be available within the next month or so.

In the mean time, if the dealer didn't do a BMS reset and "parked & locked for >8hrs" procedure, you might want to do that.

• Charge your new battery to 100%, using the under-hood jump points.
• Reset the BMS, per the owner's manual.
• Keep the truck locked and Off for at least 8 hours.

I'm on battery number 3 now on my late-23 Lariat Hybrid. The original lasted 11 months, and the higher-capacity first replacement lasted only 5 months. With this last new battery I can see from the different driver display screens that they also updated some unknown software, so I'm unsure whether they have fixed the problem properly now. I wish that there was a screen showing the charge amount and rate. Its also using less power to climb a hill now, so the changes seem to have included some engine management functionality.
