12v Battery Replaced Today

24 Lariat Hybrid owned ~5mos.

Was having various problems: dome lights not coming on when doors opened, pass side keyless lock/unlock not working, Sync display not firing up when door opened.

Dealer diagnosed it as a failing 12v battery and replaced it under warranty.

The truck didn’t just keel over, it was shutting things off as the battery degraded. The drivers side keyless lock/unlock kept working.

There's an upcoming recall on the battery charging/BMS issues. Should be available within the next month or so.

In the mean time, if the dealer didn't do a BMS reset and "parked & locked for >8hrs" procedure, you might want to do that.

• Charge your new battery to 100%, using the under-hood jump points.
• Reset the BMS, per the owner's manual.
• Keep the truck locked and Off for at least 8 hours.

I'm on battery number 3 now on my late-23 Lariat Hybrid. The original lasted 11 months, and the higher-capacity first replacement lasted only 5 months. With this last new battery I can see from the different driver display screens that they also updated some unknown software, so I'm unsure whether they have fixed the problem properly now. I wish that there was a screen showing the charge amount and rate. Its also using less power to climb a hill now, so the changes seem to have included some engine management functionality.

Trying, and failing, to remove battery on my 22 ecoboost, it is the original which failed a week ago at 3 yrs 11 months.

Removed all required items: hold down bracket, neg and pos cables. It will NOT pull up and out. I can get the front to come UP about 1/2" and pull forward to airbox.
Rear will not come up AT ALL.

This does not match any of the how-to write ups I've found,
no force within reason makes the rear move other than 1/16" side to side, or back and forth. Zero up!

Advice? Help? This is my only form of transportation

Not a plastic bottom brace in there, hard to see since black?
Hold down bracket may not be only thing used.

You may have noted the hybrid ONLY has that bottom brace to keep it in place - they work very well.

10mm socket with tape in it to hold the bolt, on a long extension. You probably will also need a decent trouble light or flashlight.

It appears if there is one - it should be on the more visible side, but indeed farther down.
Then again - I've seen brackets like this where a long threaded rod on the back side goes into the plastic block deep down, amongst that mess of pipes - very annoying.
Or it is actually bolted right there at the top?
