I completed six recalls from the first run on 2023 Hybrid Mav. Just received two new ones. Wiper motor could get water logged and malfunction. Back up camera can "freeze" and create an illusion the rear is safe when camera is frozen. Guess will need to call in another mobile recall diagnosis soon. At this point, wondering if I should wait until I collect 5 before getting it done. It is like collecting recycling cans. Should I collect more before turning it in and wasting a trip?

I wouldn't wait on that back up camera freeze issue personally.

Not much choice at the moment, there isn't a fix available for it yet.

Doesn't affect Lariat, they should have made Sync3 standard in all trim levels IMO instead of relying on outdated and underpowered hardware for the XL / XLT versions.

Well, that sucks.

Fully agree.

Agreed.
I have an XLT. I feel like the operating system and graphics are one step below Windows Vista.
Especially when compared to my 2018 Buick Encore which is the cheapest Buick they make.

If you guys read my other thread about the tailgate you’ll see my middle aged-ness can do old school survival, and wishing for new tech improvements. I can drive fine without it and it’s sure finer with it! 🤣

What about the manual one (actually turning your head around)? :)

Once I've manually made sure nothing is coming, there's nothing better than a backup camera for me. Not even mirrors. Mirrors don't give as broad a view as a backup camera does.

You are correct. Nor are the side mirrors positioned where the camera is.
The camera is especially helpful when you're parked bewteen two taller vehicles that may be blocking your view.

It is hard in parking lots sometimes. I tend to pull through when I park so I don't have to back out of my spot. It's definitely safer.

I was told by a car salesman once to always drive into a spot. He said you should never back into a spot. His reasoning was all the expensive stuff is at the front end of the vehicle. If someone backs into you in a parking lot, you’re more likely just to lose a bumper instead of your radiator and everything else under the hood. Personally I can see advantages to both ways.

This brings up a funny online debate I saw. Do real pick-up drivers back in or park forward into spaces. 😂😂

Actually, my Dad had an answer for that..
Being a mechanic and machinist.. He always had preventive maintenance on his mind...
"You drive-in to a spot, then check for leaks when you back out"...

It proved itself for ME a few times...

Jerry

P. S.
For those who love their backup camera....
What did YOU DO before hand...
